Additional Game night: PSA

Shook

  • Its been reiterated by those experienced in bracket revivals... "More Q nights = Less participants = Less quality games = Bracket dies." If saturdays are a bad night then we need to vote for a different night. But we really need to stick to one and only one day a week for the foreseeable future.

I know some have said "if you want to queue up on anther night then get some people to queue up." I strongly oppose that too. People need to get their 39 BG fix on queue night. Arenas the rest of the week are great! But if I can scratch that 39 bg itch on sunday too, why should I sacrifice my time on saturday?

If i had the time for bracketmaster position I would shame everyone trying to get some pick up games on off night. The only exception would be premade games/practices. Do arenas (which are a blast, I might add).

Example: "Hey timmy I want to watch the football game on queue night so lets grab some people and get some games in today instead."

"Thats sounds great! I really want to watch that game as well."

Now we will be down a few players on queue night because of this.

We need people to prioritize game night over other events.

I want this bracket to live and will be hostile towards decisions that will kill it.

You have to consider Shook, for all people in Australia and NZ. Even though we are the minority, we are a helpful part of 39's. If you guys make it on Sunday that means the games for us will be Monday morning, usually we cannot play then because either school/uni or aka college or work. If it's sat night for you guys its then sun morning for us which is perfect timing i think.

I understand were you are coming from, but it has to please all parties.

Guaranteed, as soon as you add a second game night, you will get less people queuing on the original night, of course this point has been repeated by other revival veterans, but if you take corrective action to ensure sufficient numbers on the original night, a second night could likely be pulled off without immediate death to the bracket. Maybe if there was a pre-que list or some kind of sign-up sheet that was refreshed each week, people are more likely to show up if they publicly sign up, imo. You just need something to make it so that people can depend on games to happen so they don't just get discouraged & blow off the bracket & not bother to even que the next game night.

Whatever game night you're going with, get the games going late too before adding a second, there's alot of timezones to cover in the potential 39 pool, so the wider your que time frame the more individuals you'll be able to get into games, and the more you'll build a significant player base that will be willing to commit to more than one night a week.

Idk, I just don't want my favorite bracket to die before I get enough time off work to participate.
