  • Hello I am trying something new and I think it will be pretty god damn bursty, I can get close to 60% crit as a vet survival hunter something worth testing?

    Thoughts comments remarks go ahead!

Sounds like someone got a pair of Stendel's wedding bands

I would stack Agi/Crit gear for BM/MM since they have tooltips that can compliment additional Crit stacking.

I would go for a more balanced set up for Survival.

is this deciding whether critical strike gift enchants? It could be good by I honestly doubt it. I see some gear pieces being good for this though, such as the 7/7/7 scaled crit boots from darkshore quest.

Vers gives a lot more damage in the long run. If you want burst, it might be better to stack multistrike and crit as opposed to just crit because the points to percent relationship with crit isn't linear and there's diminishing returns per additional point. The 20% additional multistrike with survivalist also matters in the equation.

If you actually do the math, stacking crit or multistrike increases overall damage by 6-8% whereas versatility increases it by 14-17% depending on if you have vers trinkets or not. That's huge, to the point where you get more burst of you crit while stacking vers cause you hit so much harder.

I have played f2p survival hunter in MoP + and used to twink hunter in vanilla, as far as survival is concerned idc what most people say, I went full crit (i know ^hes not full crit atm i dont play it now) and I was almost certain it was the best way to play hunter for the time it lasted. I would definitely give it a shot.

It's always worth a shot. In this case, it's worth an explosive shot. Audience boos

But yea, if it doesn't work out, just switch sets back. And keep crit for maybe another patch.

Too add to my experience, seeing 20 boomkins in MoP as hunter, I usually switched target even from a healer to burst the boomy, and usually they would die. Burst is there you just have to know how to use the class first.

" If you want burst, it might be better to stack multistrike and crit as opposed to just crit because the points to percent relationship with crit isn't linear and there's diminishing returns per additional point. The 20% additional multistrike with survivalist also matters in the equation. "

As far as that goes it's true, but past 50% crit by 5 or even 10%? (how?) is really good and the diminishing returns gets a bit of boost around there, but not much further up. The class can really be used as a situational dps at those stats.
