[Official]Cata Private Server - F2P : interest and poll

Vote for which option represents ur interest level for cata private server just for f2p games. This will cost ~50$ a month to keep up, imagining we have ~25-30 ppl at first its just over 1$ a month. If it becomes increasingly successful there may be bigger donors allowing us to hit our goal faster or expand. We will be aiming at holding specific times on multiple nights every week that everyone can come on and do elusive, competitive and balanced games. The exact patch and other details will be chosen once enough interest has been shown. Also use this thread to discuss these types of things and spread the word to any player u may believe would be interested, especially older players.

Aww man, I really hope this comes to fruition. I played during Cata sure, but I didn't really hit my stride until like early mop so I was never really able to take advantage of the things we had back then. I've always wanted to go back and see how I'd play with everything I've learned up to this point in WoW. Even if it was just playing around in Duelshire/Duelotar, I would still be interested in this. Maybe this could even bring back some people from the old community that I really miss. It would definitely bring back my hype for level 20s though thats for sure.

This is also good because it lets people experience how F2P really started, many people who play now weren't around during that time but everyone speaks of the glory days of cataclysm and I'm sure they'd like to see it for themselves.

Hahahahaha =) ! But yeah, what Flynn said, i played during Cataclysm, but to be honest, i didn't care about PVP, i was a noob lurking around high level zones. What exactly would you need to know, the patch shouldn't effect your decision. The future dates may effect your availability but vote in the general aspect for now and if a problem arises then it's ok. A donation is of any amount of money, like i said if everyone (20+ people) donated just a dollar or two we can have a great startup with custom features

I chose the first one but it's not entirely true for me. I am willing to donate, but idk yet if I'll be able to play with my internet problem; I want to contribute, tho.

As many others here, I started playing some months before MoP, and I was learning how to do it, so I pretty much missed the "good ol' days".
I sooo wish this would also include bringing back the ppl that used to play when I started, Bison for example, lol. Sadly, we can't buy that x)
At that time, I used to play on a hunter (first class I tried), but I am not gonna go to that road again, in case this happens

I think this is a great idea. I honestly don't see why people aren't willing to donate a couple bucks for a sick pvp experience. I'd rather pay 15 bucks for a year of good pvp instead of a month of shitty pvp and going vet.

If this doesn't work out we should have a realm that is pure f2p where we can have duels/wargames/arenas. I think that would be pretty sick. Preferably on Nazgrel xD

Again man i like the idea and all but wont there need to be a lot ... like A LOT of people coming into this thing. Like i get that technically this what this thread is trying to. Even with 20+ people donating, there would have to be double the players over that to have something smooth going

On top of that, shouldn't you go for a more classic twinking specific sorta thing here
the idea of a f2p server is kinda contrary considering you have to pay, and i know others wont have to which technically means they are f2p
but then the people leading this cattle could easily set up wargames in LIVE WoW without having to go and pay and set up a server. it might take equal time setting up a wargame in LIVE rather in comparison to a small server who may not have enough players at times to fulfill

so the way my POV on this is, you are just trying to make a better overall environment for f2p
but down to the soul of pvp, i feel this is can easily be achieved in live

again this is all pre speculation on seeing if there will be enough people, which what this thread is about

so for that, ill definitely donate, but not for the start up, but later on if it manages well

If pvp at 20 was even close to subpar we wouldn't be considering a priv server. The moveset and capability of each class/spec made the expansion far and away more enjoyable for wargames, structured BGs, world pvp events, etc.

idk if u ever played f2p cata, but that was the shit. we had many players coming from different brackets coming to play because of the class mechanics and how balanced it was. every class was viable and so was every spec. cata was chosen because it offers so much more for every class, unlike live.

I'm not quite understanding your response but I was referring to the current expansion in my initial statement, and Cata in my second.

Well what you have to understand is that the people who will play this want competitive games. So there won't be too many hunters. If there are, we can always introduce rules limiting classes.
