Get some people and pool together some money online then. I'm dying to set up a private server for something, but if there's no demographic for it there's no point.

Hell, WoW is practically F2P now. All it does is just take time to earn that gold. And once you become efficient at gold making, it is just a matter of logging in and posting auctions, collecting gold, playing a bit of Garrisonville and so forth. I probably spend more time swapping back and forth between characters than I do actually playing. Lol.

5.2 was an amazing time imo. Item and level scaling for 20s, no 5.4 enchants for 24s. Shame it didn't last long, games were pretty solid.

Sounds like they want something more specific.
Sounds like you guys are looking for a specific patch/xpac.
$100/month would be good to accommodate more than enough people and it would be cloud-hosted in a dedicated datacenter. Automated and scripted, you'd deal with your own GM issues and all that jazz, I can manage the backend completely with automation. Small landing page / personal domain (brovserver.com etc etc).
If you're looking at something under 100 players, $50/month might do. If you can realistically pool that AND show me 20+ players that will play it on launch day, shoot me a PM and I can have it up in a day or two without serious customization. Those take a little longer.

Right now is fine. You just need to stay with your team and not get caught out in the open. People are always going to roll FoTM. Even on private servers they will do it. It is the nature of the beast.

I have a good 10 Warr on Ragnaros I think on warmane. It's the cata server. Forgot the name if it isn't ragnaros. I agree with you.
I'm tired of wotlk servers. Nostalgia blabla but that's it.. I loved twining in Cata and it saddens me that people are stuck with this mindset that Wotlk was the best time for twinks.
You miss out on so many features. . Plus, the talent tree and damage is atrocious in wotlk. You get useful core abilities in Cata and I don't understand why this is never mentioned when deciding to make a private server.
