What to get before faction change

Tiger

Legend
Hey guys, as you know 6.2 is coming out in like 5 days. One of the cooler things that is coming with 6.2 is the ability to tame exotic pets. There are two exotic pets that can only be caught on wandering isle (the water strider and the quilen). There is also a special skin of tiger, fox and moth that can only be tamed on wandering isle. WI also has the only tameable crane at this level. All that being said, I don't really want to play a panda hunter because I think Belf or Tauren is more optimal and since faction changes only cost 5$ more than race changes I was thinking I'll make an ally panda, gear it and faction change. My goal here is to create a list of things to get before changing factions (in terms of vanity, mogs, gear, etc) so that anyone else planning to do this can also be helped by it. If you have any suggestions I can add them to the list. Thanks!

Gear (ally):
Rifle Commander's Eyepatch
Signet of Argas
Ello's Band
Tia's Ring
Bracers of the Ancient Grove
Silver Embossed Boots
Fitsimmon's Belt
Belt of Recurring Raids

Gear (horde):
Signet of Argas

Vanity:
Equip faction tabards for achievement

Mogs (Ally):
Keeshan's bow
Blackwood Hunter's Bow
Darkshore Bow
Shipwreck Bow
Massive Firearm of Death
Crossbow of the Hand
Arugoo's Crossbow of Destruction
Crossbow of the Crown
Hand of Argus Crossfire

Mogs (Horde):
Bow of the Great Hunter
Stonifying Gun
Crossbow of the Twice-Slain

Unique pets to pick up on Wandering Isle:
Whitefeather Crane
Corsac Fox
Guardian of the Elders (exotic)
Pei-Wu Tiger
Water Pincer (exotic)
Ash Moth (there's two types, grey and white. White is unique)

I don't know what you mean by , 7 faction tabards--- don't they just convert to Horde after faction changing ?

+I see you are an agility user, therefore you may need Tia's ring. I know you will stick with 2 Signets of Argas but who knows, maybe it may scale more in the future, never underestimate an item!

Bracers of the Ancient Grove, you will need these for a Stamina stack set! They scale to 8 stamina, making them the best Bracers*** to be obtained by alliance.

There is a quest called Disturbing Connections, wich rewards you Silver Embossed Boots, 3 agi, 3 stm, 3 crit. I am not sure what is the scaling of these items, but having it for a crit stack set for different situations.

I cannot think of any more items to obtain, but that is it! I hope its helpful!

Thanks for the response Lenny, I added them to the list! Also I'm not sure if the tabards get converted. When I faction changed one of my other toons they just became inequipable and the one I had equipped stayed equipped but also became unequipable after I equipped another tabard. The faction tabards also counted towards tabard achievements which I thought was strange.

The orgimmar, bilgewater, etc tabards get converted to alliance counterparts and vice versa. They do count towards the 25 tabards equipped achievement though, which rewards you with a Tabard of the Achiever - Item - World of Warcraft (which is ugly as fuck imo, but can be used by ANY toon linked to your battle.net after obtaining on one toon, no matter if vet or f2p or p2p.)

You might want to go for Belt of Recurring Raids or Fitzsimmons' Belt. They both scale to 10 agility :) Plus, you might want those Tharll's Gift bracers, I don't know what they scale but might be good (you will need to change to a Goblin to get it so never mind :p)

I'll add them in case anyone else wants to haha. Thanks!

I changed factions 2 years ago so they must have changed it. Updated, thanks!

Oh right. Sorry I thought if you changed to a goblin, you would be in the Goblin starting zone :D

Can you get it if you race change to goblin after the faction change?

The bracers are from the last quest before you leave the Goblin starting zone, in which case you wouldn't be able to obtain them, unless someone has figured out some way to do that. On an unrelated note, you and your hunter in your sig have been a huge thorn in my side in the Gulch over the past few weeks I've been playing. I mean that in the best way possible :p

Heh thanks :p I guess I'll just remove the gloves from the list since it's pretty much impossible to get them on a panda hunter

Gokku glitched out of his worgen starting zone later submitted a ticket to get his racial abilitites. Far far later he submitted a ticket to get his worgen quest items even the green ones, the GM got them for him, so if you spend money on race change and explain to a GM that you thought you could obtain it, they would see it as a refund or get you what you want. It might work it might not who knows. Try changing to goblin and asking for the bracers.

Hmm this might actually work, I wonder if you race changed to worgen the GM could give you the pet they start with (the dog). That would be pretty cool to have xD

You can pick those up south of the Greymane wall, can't you?

Ah, you're right. I know some races don't have a tameable version of their starter pets at this level though, like the night elf cat for example. Might be worth trying out.

The Stonifying Gun (Stonifying Gun - Item - World of Warcraft) is a really good looking transmog.
I'm wondering if you, create a Horde --> get the gun --> faction change to Alliance, do you still hold the gun in your inventory? Or is it classified as 'faction-specific' like the quotation from Battle.net (shown below) mentions?

"All their items. If any of your character’s items are faction-specific, they will be exchanged for their cross-faction equivalent."

It would be really cool to have this gun transmog on a lv19 or lv20 dwarf hunter :D

Does anybody have experience? Cheers!
