Wargame lvl 21 Spriest builds and theorycrafting

Premades on Saturdays are looking at lvl 21 Spriest. Just in case some people are wondering the idea behind this. Some people felt it should be aloud to let more viable classes in to mix things up, also we felt the abilities at 21 wouldn't make Spriest very Op.

Abilties gained at lvl 21:
1) Devouring plague
2) Mind Blast
3) Shadow orbs

Can only wear lvl 20 and under gear with f2p restrictions

This is an Trial run. At next posting if someone wants to be a guinea pig for us?

Any builds for people interested or theorycrafting for Spriests would be greatly appreciated. Such as:

Crit ,Haste or glass canon and etc...

Just FYI another thing would be discussed if Spriest is successful is allowing Fire Mage next at a certain lvl. Also I think it's very amazing that were looking outside the box to better games.

Their max burst would be ~3k over 4 seconds, strongest caster still by far

How are you getting that?

Mind Blast uses 200% of spellpower.

Devouring Plague uses 300% of spellpower as an initial hit, and 300% again over 6 seconds.

My priest's spellpower build puts him at around 220 in scaling.

This means that Mind Blast would hit for about 440 damage base; Devouring Plague would hit for around 660 base initial and an additional 660 over 6 seconds.

The most I'm seeing is around 1700 damage in 6 seconds, with a 27 second cooldown (Mind Blast x 3).

I mean even if you're calculating in EVERYTHING as a critical strike, you'd only get to around 2500 damage over 6 seconds.

450 + 1320 + 150 (dots) + 220 (mindflay x 1) + 110 (shadow word pain) = 2260, max avg burst would detail nearly 2 crits, so its nearly 2.6k with a max burst of 3k

Okay, I agree with that.

I think they're a kind of interesting niche caster, that is going to be overshadowed by Boomkin in most cases in terms of raw strength. But I think they're interesting and should be allowed to play.

Lvl 20 shadow priests = pfft nobody rolls that, they're useless. You're an idiot if you do.

Lvl 21 shadow priests = that's horrible! Why would you roll something so op? Wow much scum

:) <3

Idk why you need to go 21 for shadow. Check out the crits on this badboy: http://www.hitbox.tv/video/454956

Lol. Amiright? Anyway, is this for your oldschool f2p wargames? Have you already included other +20 twinks? On it's face it seems like it kind of defeats the point. I mean, what's next?

I like that you guys have regular wargames, but am very confused by some of the rules. Maybe I'll talk to Bend and get it sorted.

I can answer any questions you might have regarding rules.

The thing is, there aren't really any "oldschool f2p wargames" anymore. What level 20-nonenchanted wargames have going for them is balance. They aren't based off of crazy high damage enchants, or extremely wide margins of spells and mechanics between classes.

This is no longer about the F2P community; it's about excellent twink games. The F2P community has widely been split up into varying layers of gear / enchant differentials, so this isn't about playing on a level field anymore. We're much more equal against full P2Ps than we were before.

So in the interest of balancing these games, we can go outside the normal "F2P" restrictions and include classes of different levels, assuming they follow all other rules for level 20 wargames.

I think this is a brilliant idea, at 21 spriest wouldn't have glyph of mind blast.....which is a decent limit for F2P standards. The gear limits would drop a priest behind by like 10-15% of a max int built 29 spriest. Probably gonna see 600MB and 1kDPs, which is not too bad seeing rogues hit for 2k!!!

Our number crunching is showing about those numbers, but for critical strikes only. It's more like 450 MB 650 DP otherwise, which is fairly balanced when compared to other casters.

I have to admit, I could abide in a world without crusader stacking.
