There's an idea being considered currently that I'd like community feedback on. The absolute maximum amount of teams that can be allowed in the Twink Cup is 16, and this means only one game per round will be streamed. The maximum amount of teams that will allow for every game to be streamed is 8. Any amount of teams between 9-15 will result in there being bye rounds.

We're discussing the idea of holding preliminary games that will last for an entire week, 2 weekends, to allow for flexible scheduling. The top 6-8 teams will be seeded into the main tournament, possibly with the 1st/2nd place teams from last year being autoseeded. There will be less restrictive roster limitations for these games if they happen. Teams could then be seeded into the main event based on their performance in the preliminary games, rather than arena.

This should also help create a compromise between the people that want a Gamers-League stream and the people that want a community stream by allowing these games to be streamed by HB/Nudge.

1st/2nd place teams from last year being autoseeded.

I also would have to say I strongly disagree with this

As I know people have said and told you. It's too late to organize something like this, if this had been said from the start it would be different, but people's schedules aren't that flexible, people may still not be prepared by then. I also don't like the 16 team max, as I believe there may be more than that, and a first come first serve that was discussed will be harsh with various timezones.

Keep in mine people might have planned their vacation prehand and simply either have already taken vacation or cant take vacation at this point, simply to late at this point

I like the idea of games before the cup to decide seeding.. it's just too late. Highly against teams from last place cup being auto seeded for last years performance.

Way to late, as said people might be going on vacation with their family and have planned dates to simply be home for the dates given for TC 6 months ago.

I have stated this before, with the disconnect between Community Stream members and Myrm, there is no longer a community stream available. That was decided the week Gamer's League was announced to the public as the official host.

Edit: My feeling is preliminary games would have been a great way to determine the seeding going into the Cup if it was decided at least 2-3 months ago.

As nerdy as it sounds, I seriously doubt that a player on any serious Twink Cup team has the whole week or more scheduled for a vacation the week going into the Twink Cup. Regardless, if you read the original post, it seems like a pretty flexible schedule and all that needs to happen is that the teams that need to play each other before seeding find a date and time that works for both teams some time before seeded portion of the tournament starts. In the end, it's just seeding and others in the bracket that played last year have stated that the seeding won't really have an effect on the outcome of the tournament as the double elimination bracket acts as a system of checks and balances for this.

If for whatever reason a game can't be scheduled on a day before the seeded tournament starts, which I feel is highly unlikely, then a game can be scheduled a little before the actual seeded tournament is scheduled to start.

Regardless, it's just seeding and it's not the end of the world if you end up having to run an alternate hunter for the prelim rounds.

Last year a big problem with the tournament was that in the finals, the tournament was running behind schedule and one of the players had to go to work soon, and didn't make prior arrangements due to being assured by the tournament organizer i believe that the tournament would be done before then. Obviously it was behind schedule and this resulted in the final game resulting in a tie if neither team capped.

With the increased publicity that the tournament has received for this year, I feel that this is almost necessary. As Myrm stated, there will be flexible with if someone can't make it and if you are really gonna blame not making it to the finals due to your seeding, you probably don't belong in the finals.

I disagree that 1st & 2nd place teams from last year should get pre-seeded.

From what i've been told many of the rosters for this year were swapped & the overall competition level of last years tournament was nowhere near what this year is looking to be like.

The week The Twink Cup was handed over to Gamers-League the "Community Based" Tournament was sold out of that community based mindset. This idea that preliminary games are needed for this tournament can only come from a program like Gamers-League because they can only show/do so many things in their small time-frame that they have had to prepare. With Gamers-League not understanding the players or the community i can see how it would be hard to understand how going multiple weeks in a row is a problem on many levels.

This is a great idea to add to future Twink Cups, but less than 2 months before this one begins is the wrong move.

Now I will speak as a player coming from EU. Personally I do not see any problem in having preliminary games and in my opinion it would be the best, but announcing it now is way to late for it to happend. If we had known it 3-4 months ago I would have totally been up for it, but coming in, ~a month from TC asking people to play preliminary games in what? 4 weeks? way to late if you ask me. Having games as an EU player 3 in the night is no where near optimal and when people have not taken vacation for preliminary games US people are probably working at the best time for having premades (3 PM for US ppl = 9 PM for EU) that would have been optimal imo. I know this is a US turnament but there are quite some EU players playing in this turnament for various teams. Besides from that I do think people have other stuff as vacation, jobs, family to attend to 2 weeks prior to TC, once again this would have been a GREAT and the BEST solution if it had been announced at the same time as TC got announced. And no it's not "Just seeding" it's about eliminating ~8 teams and sure it would have been a great way to do it, but should have been announced alot earlyer.

You cant expect everyone out of a player base of lets say 100-150 is available for preliminary games on that short notice. It just wouldnt be fair if some teams had to change their teams. And if I got it right its not about seeding its about qualifying for the twink cup.
So I would also agree that it is too late now.

If it's to qualify for the twink cup then yes I agree, it is probably too late.

I don't know how to tag but Hunnybuns19 Pizza

We could do my group stage format this way, group stage bo1's being played before tourney weekend

It is a little late in the game to be changing the format. Some of the reasons have already been listed by my comrades here already.
As far as preseeding last year's teams... It would be different if their teams were 100% carryover from 2014. I suspect those team's rosters have changed in the last year.

/cheers
