Should I go for 20 or 29 ?!

Might be a stupid question for some but I am not sure what is better. I want to make a new Disc Priest and after every BG I check the top healers and I see the 29's basically always getting owned by the 20's so does the gear available for 20's scale better than the one for 29's ?

I pretty much also have the feeling that this is the same with ferals and rogues, the 20's feel stronger. Someone please enlighten me. Thanks :)

If you intend to play for free go 20, if not, at 29 there are more gearing options open for you and more spells, so its better. All gear scales to 34 (pretty sure its 34)in the 20-29 bracket unless its item level is higher, where it doesn't scale down. I would only say 20 if you wanted to go F2P, as you lose glyphs abilities and gearing options:)

A 20s gear and a 29s gear will scale the same, 29 has everything a 20 has, plus more.

You're either seeing shit healers, but at the same time it isnt about who does the most healing, a 20 dpriest should 100% beat a 29 rsham who are both playing right

a 20 dpriest should 100% beat a 29 rsham who are both playing right

Or vice versa? :p

But yeah everything scales same @ every level, so 29 is basically best. 20 have the chance to not pay for gametime if they go veteran, but 29 still have better in-game benefits.

Since scaling has taken place in I have not made a twink over level 20 for this bracket. I prefer to play level 20. My level 20 shaman outperforms level 29's regularly in every aspect that a healer should be performing. In addition, my level 20 gets to be invited in the many starter only events that we have.
With that said, being a level 20 isn't for everyone. At level 29 you get a couple more abilities. One whole glyph that may be useful and some gear that usually does not scale. And you do get labeled the scum of the bracket too! We can't forget that one! The choice is yours.
The biggest deal breaker for a priest for me would be Fortitude. The gear differences are not substantial. As you have seen, skill trumps gear when it comes to making a 20 vs a 29.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the many answers :) As I have to pay for the account anyways I will just go for 29 then.

Step 1: Make a level 29 BM Monk
Step 2: Copy Gucciglad

No need for a 3rd step because once you've copied step 2 you're already winning.

Yes there is a step 3.
3. Cry when FotM gets nerfed.
4. Reroll next FotM.
5. Back to step 2.
note: steps 1-5 are only for weaklings..

I'd do both. Make a 29 and a 20 that way if you end up not wanting to sub anymore at any point you can always casually jump on here and there, talk to friends and play some BGs. But if you plan on subbing for the foreseeable future go 29. 1 to 20 is like 4 or 5 hours all loomed up and depending on what type of character you make getting the rest BiS at 20 is probably an average of 7 hours.

1-29 takes like 2-3 hours. Most BiS Is BoA. The rest is mainly dungeon drops. So you could prob fully be done a toon in 4-5 hours. Like I did.

Yes, it takes only 30-60 min of play time to reach level 10. Maybe 30-45 more to reach 15 if you solo RFC or Deadmines. Then you can stop XP until you get your satchel belt. Resume XP until you reach desired level.
BiS depends on your style of play and the class. However, at 29, a large portion of the the better gear are drops from a singular instance. And those bosses have very small loot tables and that instance can be run very very quickly.
There is no "cookie cutter" gear set any more. We have many many choices of gear and enchants from which to choose. There are pieces that are best for a certain function, like a highest stamina or a highest haste. But, as far as having a full "BiS set", that is impossible in today's twinking world. What is BiS for me may not be BiS slot for someone else.

I can't wait till BMs get nerfed because then I'll be the only BM Monk in the bracket and I'll still be /flexing on foolz!

At any rate, back on subject after our resident GG Twink kiddos have had their bit of fun.
The OP can take a look at the armories posted here in the 20-29 section to get an idea for a level 29. There are no level 20's save for my two shaman.
If you are interested in a level 20, I am sure there are plenty of examples in the "level twenty" section. There is a "vet armory" there. Vets have access to the same gear and enchants that subscribers do.
