17-5 | Alliance vs Horde Wargames

Great to see some organised wargames going on! Well done for organising and hope theres more to come.

Good game, guys! Was super fun! :)

It took unnecessarily long time to start the games because of players with XP-off (as always), and the fact that our BM-monk was listed as a DPS instead of a tank. No one on the Horde team had any idea that Tank-specs had to role-check as Tanks.
We should be able to get these games started earlier next time now that we know what to watch out for.

We discussed team balance in the Horde Skype-call after the game and came to the conclusion that DPS Monks need to be limited to one per team, as well as Balance Druids. Feel free to discuss this or come with other suggestions for future wargames that you think might help make the games more balanced and fun.

Horde won the first game 1-0, and Alliance won the second game 2-0.

Thanks for streaming the games, I'm looking forward to watching the vods!

Yup, just watched them. First looked really good, shame the second was a little more one-sided.

Nice watch thx. Hope I have time to join again next time.
Rogue perspective was fun (not talking about your use of Torrent though ;) ).
I always thought "man u need a dispel or a shield" esp. when u attacked Tricky.
Intense stuff^^

Yeah, killing hunter pets trying to get a restealth most of th time, was fun.

Games are up on Twitch:
Game1 - Twitch
Game2 - Twitch

They're up on my YT channel also: http://www.youtube.com/HathorEU
Nice to see the game from smone's eyes. Have to say sorry for my audience' noises. Many people had fun watching me playing last night :DD. The stream helped me to realise how protective I was for our FC. Like he was "my precious" lol. Used all my deff capasity like nets, slows, silence etc. + I was always near our bear FC:p. If I come in other wargames next weeks I will fix that and will be more offensive so allies beware (jokeeee).
GG skilled players.

lol horde so disoriented, and their dps their dps's forgot to do their role.

yes, in the second game we were disoriented and made many mistakes, after the 1st alliance cap we never fully regrouped (also I think noone really called the targets on skype, which contributed to the ineffectiveness of our dps), we need to learn from this.
however, I can't think of any way how we could have countered alliance setup, the dps that alliance was putting out was immense, they had way more mobility than our dps and once they started to play more aggresively our healers simply became overloaded.
I will try to post a more datailed analysis and wold like to hear what other think we could have done better.

in any case GGs to everyone, and thatnks for the good athmosphere on the horde side

ps: could someone post the screenshots, pls

Well, after watching the games again this morning, if i will be able to attempt the next Wargames, i think i should be the Target Caller and no because Alpha did it wrong but because due to his role, he needed to switch targets so often to Rend everyone up. Also, due to the fact that i can't connect so fast with called targets since i have no mobility at all, i wasn't be able to be on the called target most of the time.

Another thing was the total failure of using Arcane Torrent properly but, if i'd be the target caller, i could synchonyse better Arcane Torrent with Kick to actually see proper results on the Battlefield. In the first game we managed to communicate alot better calling things out. The second game the pressure was so high that we forgot to actually speak to each other. Next time we need to better coordinate sheeps with silences and stuff but for that we need to be vocal on Skype. Also we need more pressure on healers. The second game healers had almost zero pressure on them.

That's what i'm thinking.

PS: Great and relaxed atmosphere on Skype, i liked.

I agree, I think about 2 times I got through to efc, but I was and wasn't able to put out enough damage to disctract alliance enough to relieve our team that was constantly under pressure. If we synchorinized we could have achieved more.

I agree again, don't even mention arcane torrent to me, I haven't played belf so much so still have to learn how to use the racial properly;
in the second game haven't used it even once :(

In any case I think the deciding factor was the high mobility of alliance (not to mention they had 3 ranged dps vs our 1) in the second game, moreover it seemed they even held some kind of V shaped formation with monks at the tip wrecking everything, hunters on one side and druid od the opposite side, mage blinking in between and healers in the back. Anything we tried they always blinked, displaced, rolled away to healers. If we attacked their healers, their monks put high pressure on our healers and alliance ranged were still able to provide defens for their healers or extra pressure on us. If u think about it, it was easy for alliance to put 5 dps on one target in a matter of seconds.
We will be ready next time! ;)

GGs to everyone and thanks to PLEYA for organising teams. You did a great job with the roster and hope these wargames continue. Just FYI on the roles thing. For next time, just don't set roles and it should work, but if one person in the team sets themselves as a dps or a healer or a tank, everyone will also have to. So it would be much more time efficient to not set roles at all.
