Veteran accounts, Arena Skirmish/BG queues, servers, oh my!

Hey guys, I recently let my subscription run out, but have recently learned of Veteran features that allow you to enjoy aspects of the game similar to the F2P player base. I have a few questions if you don't mind...

1) My account has all of the heirlooms except the new(er) neck ones and the ring. Are you able to use heirlooms and, if so, am I going to be gimped by not having the neck/ring looms?

2) How are BG and Arena skirmish queues nowadays?

3) Is there a server or servers that see a particularly good amount of activity from Veteran/F2P, or am I better off just creating a character on the server that all my other characters were on?

4) Aside from apparently being able to join a guild, are there any other perks that Veteran accounts get that F2P don't i.e. Gold, Mail, AH, etc.?

1. yes you can use all the heirlooms. heitlooms are not 100% neccesary since a lot of f2p do quite well without them. although it does make you stronger a bit.

2. sometimes less than 10 mins sometimes hours. cant really say a definite number.

3. aerie peak is the most famous. though there are others. check out the other threads, i dont really feel like digging though them.

4. if you previously ad more than 10g you can keep it and continue to spend it. but you cant gain more. no mail no AH. only thing is that you can get high level enchants on your gear before your subscription runs out. if you did not enchant your gear while your subscription was active then there really isnt any advantage apart from heirlooms as mentioned above. also secondary professions are bugged for veterans. some items below 100 skills cant be created

To elaborate a bit on Syrayeda's last point, heavy linen bandages are top of the line for vet accounts at the moment, +4 stam food (and it only one or two types) is BiS for vets. You CAN make swiftness and agility pots via alchemy for sure, I'm unsure about the viability of other profs.

You'll still be able to learn recipes that are under 100 (like I learned wool bandages) but they will be locked out to create.
