Forum Reorgnization Status

  • Hello everyone.

As you can see, the forums have gone through a bit of an overhaul. The guides have been moved into their own section, the addition of a new Level 20 Twinking forum, and the retooling of the General area.

We have also trimmed down some of the unused forums to make for a more pleasant viewing experience.

We are still working out the logistics of the Private Servers and Account / Item Sales. So, that section will remain hidden and unavailable for the next couple of days while we work through the permissions and who is able to see it and at what point.

Thank you all for your anticipated cooperation. If you find any bugs, please report in the bugs section at the bottom of the screen.

    Thanks,

    Shane

U have a starter account sub-forum, are u planning on moving the starter account stickies and threads over there? Or just say screw it and leave them in the main lv 20 twinking for mostly veterans and 20 subscribers?

Report these threads and attach a reason to it and we will move them.

Yep we thought it would be better for the users to tell the staff which threads were important to that community rather than our trying to guess which to move. If the thread has value only to the Starter players, we will happily relocate it for you.

From an aesthetic point of view, the top of the forum (with all the bracket lists etc, the guide part and all its sub-sections) looks very cluttered. Just an idea, but maybe do something to condense its contents from the main forum view or move it down below the bracket-specific forums.

what is the difference between the 20-29 bracket obviously including 20 and the level twenty twinking forum? is the 20-29 supposed to be strictly p2p?

We had talked about making it 21-29, since it is largely that way already, but there's no precedent for it (for example there is a 10s community in the 10-19 bracket but they're still included) and furthermore, there are a few things that some 20s still need from that forum e.g. best enchants for Veterans, so we didn't want to close it off completely to 20s.

Besides, there might be some magical future where the two sides actually, like, talk to each other, and we wanted to leave a place for that to be possible. I'm on the fence about it, it's basically "business as usual" but if it proves to be any kind of issue, we'll always be happy to look at it again.

Eh, I doubt anytime soon. I was in a AV last night and there was a Resto Sham/ BM duo rolling around together (29's.) I sapped the Sham while the BM chased after someone and opened up on her. She laughed/Spit/Rude at me, maybe because I am horde or maybe because I am lvl 20 we will never know. Needless to say my BE locked her down and I killed her.

It was fantastic, but 29's thinking they are better than the 20's, not so much. It really boggles my mind why the groups can't get along with each other. I guess people like shitting on low levels and it makes them feel better about themselves and sleep better at night. I honestly wish the 20's went in their own ques. I know the P2P or Veteran 20's have a slight advantage over F2P, but it is way closer of a gap than the 29's with extra abilities and glyphs.

    Just my 2 cents.

The way I see it: Twenty Twinking is for anything exclusive to 20s. 20-29 is for levels 21-29 or for anything that applies to the bracket as a whole.

Since the PvP bracket is 20-29, like it or not, to me it would make no sense to have it 21-29. And let's face it, twinking is primarily about PvP. Also many things apply to the bracket as a whole and should go there.

Besides, there might be some magical future where the two sides actually, like, talk to each other, and we wanted to leave a place for that to be possible.

    We can only dream...

Not sure if you meant it sound this way, but it appears you blame all the negativity on 29s. That's not the case. There are dicks on both sides of this; 20 AND 29, Horde AND Alliance.

I also disagree with your assessment that a fully enchanted 20 (call them vet, p2p, or whatever) only has a slight advantage over f2p. Sure their gameplay is the same as starters but in terms of relative power I think they are closer to 29s than starters for most classes. Look at your rogue, while you don't have the glyph, sprint, or gouge; you do have (or at least can have) elemental force plus fairly higher stats overall and at least 10% increased movement speed. That's at least as significant an advantage over a f2p rogue as a 29 rogue has over you.
