I would highly suggest going demo only because the survivability and dmg output exceeds destruction.
But to answer your question, I would also suggest haste. Crit would be ideal, but if you want to get a chaos bolt off, you'll need haste. And chaos bolt is your huge 'holy crap' damage spell, so I would suggest haste.
