boomkin is also very solid, dots hit hard and you can dot up alot of targets, you have nice movement speed to get away from the pack after you dotted them. roots and hard cast can be a very nice combo aswell.

I would say that for solo farming resto is more versatile (because of the heals) then guardian or feral, with comparable damage. I don't have experience with balance druids, but I would expect similar results as with feral and guardian.

Yeah, pretty much what Goesid said. Boomkin is a decent choice. But feral in some situations would do great, the damage dealt is insane. As a resto, you should play in offensive ways, gather combos in Cat form, and spend then when your energy is 50%+ to double your damage. That is why i said druids overall. Since they can all use cat form. A boomy would be perfect tho haha =) !

As resto, you can start off as bear, mangle->thrash (bleed increases shred's damage, so keep it on), switch to cat, shred, shred, when out of energy switch back to bear: mangle, trash; repeat until target dead.
For targets which die faster, I usually just start with thrash from cat form, then shred few times; when out of energy I switch to bear to finish target off with mangle.
Btw, if I am not mistaken resto's schred damage (int gear) is higher than feral's shred (without the savage roar buff, ofc).
Guardian has the disadantage that you lose rage if you want to switch form or heal during fight.

Resto druid with double haste trinkets, I solo SFK on my 19 with ease. I'd suggest either colosuss or mending when you are fighting packs of 3 or less and elemental force when you are kiting mobs.
