Streams

Wasn't there a thread where ppl added their streams to a list and then updated whenever they streamed by posting in the thread? I've just got the feeling that many ppl are streaming without anybody knowing about it, myself included. If there was no thread like this I really request a sticky or something like the twink armory. If there was a thread can any1 bump it since I can't find it. Cheers!

I made one a while ago that had quite a few streams in it but idk where it went it kinda died out i think but yeah a stickied stream thread would be really nice.

There's a whole forum subsection for streams... I haven't verified yet but you might check there to see if one of my colleagues relocated your threads there.

Streams should be stickied in the streamed twinksection imo. Makes it a lot more visible than a link in a subsection nobody visits.

I was thinking about just this, earlier this afternoon. Though this was laid out before I came on board, I think the reason that it's this way is because there aren't enough streamers in most brackets to warrant a separate sticky in each section. There are some other layouts that we could try though, for example someone in the community maintaining a sticky post that lists all the streamer's URLs, as well as a link to the correspondent thread in the streams section. That would have some advantages and some drawbacks, but we also can't leave it wide open unorganized or else the popular brackets will just have people constantly bumping their stream threads at the top of every forum rather than informational and conversational threads.

I'm open to input on what people suggest, though, and I believe I could try to pull some strings upstairs to make a better organization.

Maybe I'm way out of the legue but my dream might give you guys some ideas at least.

What I would like is something in between a sticky thread and a normal thread that u bump up all the time. Let's say there was a sticky thread with some sort of highlight function like a yellow border around it or something.

Someone was in charge of the thread and ppl could link their streams, when their streams got accepted the streamers would be given some sort of authority on their TI accounts to be able to highlight the stream thread whenever they choose to start streaming by maybe typing some sort of hashtag or whatever. The highlight could last like 1 hour or something and then disappear again until next time the streamer announced it again. The streamer would also be able to cancel the highlight if no other streamer was streaming at the same time like in case they got technical problems. This way the streamers would get the attention they wanted when they wanted.

The way sticky works now doesn't really give the streamers the attention they want since it's always on the same spot, not being changed when ppl posts in it which is really good for guides and stuff as u can see in the f2p section where there is like 53096 of them. Your own thread on the other hand gets bumped up to the top whenever some1 writes in it and gives the streamer alot of attention but also fast disappear under all other threads if you don't stream for like a day or two and every streamer would need their own thread and one streamers good luck would be anothers unfortune. That's why I want something in between.

Like the post if you guys agree. :)

Yes this sounds really cool! I like the idea :) Another thing that could possibly be done would be a twitch integration so it shows what streamers for the various brackets are streaming right now, so lets say you go into the 20-29 section it will show the various 20-29 streamers that are streaming currently, could be cool aswell.

Check the sticky posts in the Streaming section. Although I've never seen it used, Shane indicates there that we do have twitch integration.

As streaming becomes more popular, and everyone and their uncle can stream, it's important that we have a system that helps good established streamers from being buried under streams that aren't of any interest to the community. Keep that in mind as you form your thoughts on the topic.

Yes I see and yes I do find it great you can embed streams to a thread, but what I am seeking is more visibility, like a palce where its EASY to see who is live right now, could be something like.

10-19
Test1 - LIVE
Test2 - LIVE
20-29
Test1 - LIVE
Test2 - LIVE

So we dont have to go through every streaming thread to figure out who is live or not, unsure if you can follow me, but like a list of the various streamers only showing up if they are live.

Best regards

I just don't think we have the infrastructure for something like that. What you're describing sounds more like what a person would see on their twitch homepage for all the streams they are subscribed to. TI isn't really designed to be a Twitch portal.

I bet there is alot of vBulletin mods out there for twitch - Twitch Streaming Suite - DragonByte Tech | vBulletin Mods & Addons could just be an example, but ye I wont really try to push anyone into doing smoething if they do not find it "better" ^_^ Just trying to help :)

Tbh as it is now with just a streaming section is pretty useless because I mean who ever visits that nor do I see anyone bumping when they stream. I agree with Shamatix a new and improved system is needed!

Tried out streaming today aswell, got mixed response on the quality, I have hade some troubles with it lately but I think I got it working smoothly at the end. If any1 was watching I'm gladly taking any feedback. If it worked good I'll prob stream more often. I will just save stuff from events tho. Come and take a look at twitch.tv/trollguden some time! :)
