Question regarding GF'd items..

Reading all the patch notes (even tho sometimes changes like this are omitted) and checking the ptr/ ptr forums is going to be your best bet. There's no real way of knowing what's going to change with the game unless you keep yourself updated on those two things or know someone who does.
Precious ribbon was something that just about everyone KNEW was going to get fixed it was always just a question of when, the fact that you didn't have a friend run you or take up one of the three+ offers in the AH of runs for gold or runs for money gets filled under ODF, you had years to get it.
As to some of the other stuff like skillbreaker/glimmering mithril insignia in the 29 bracket, chants on boas helms, ZG chants on boa shoulders/legs and old gear that now scales like a boss. I file that under SH, don't sweat most of it.
Unless you commit to staying plugged into wow and your tinks and twinkinfo/bisnation etc you are going to get screwed on some of that stuff.
