    Primary Professions

There are 11 primary professions. Completing all quests awards you 44 * Darkmoon Prize Ticket [4 per quest]. These quests reset when the event start.

    I. Collecting phase

You can do this between two Darkmoon Faires.

    Inv_misc_tournaments_banner_human.png

    • Start in Darnassus.
    • Learn Herbalism as first and Mining as second profession.
    • Go to Teldrassil.
    • Activate Find Herbs to show resources on minimap.
    • Collect: 90 * Peacebloom, 90 * Silverleaf, 90 * Earthroot.
    • Travel to Darkshore.
    • Buy a Mining Pick.
    • Activate Find Minerals to show resources on minimap.
    • Collect: 14 * Briarthorn, 190 * Copper Ore, 190 * Rough Stone.
      Don't smelt any ores!
Check that cave too which is above the great whirlpool. See on map.
    • If any gems drop, keep them. You will need: 5 * Malachite or Tigerseye.
Copper vein drops a gemstone with 3 % chance. Sometimes it drops both!
If you were unlucky, then you will need additional 25 * Copper Ore.
    • Go into caves of Nazj'vel: there are night elf ruins on a small island, is located southwest in Darkshore. Nagas live here.
    • Collect: 30 * Tin Ore, 30 * Coarse Stone.
    • Unlearn mining.
    • Travel to Goldshire.
    • Learn Skinning as second profession.
    • Buy a Skinning Knife.
    • Turn on Auto Loot under the Options/Interface/Controls menu.
    • Go to the Maclure Vineyards or the Stonefield Farm: are located southwest in Elwynn Forest. Those little pigs respawn immidiately there.
    • Collect: 60 * Ruined Leather Scraps.
You will loot some, around 10-20 light leathers here too: don't worry about how many you have got at this point.
    • Don't harm poor Princess, or there will be no more piglets. :D
    • If your bags are full, you can sell junk items to nearby farmers.
    • Travel to Westfall.
    • Go to Saldean's Farm: is located northeast in Westfall. Just follow the western road.
    • Skin pigs and coyotes around the farm. You should check the Furlbrow's Pumpkin Farm too at north.
    • Collect: 80 * Light Leather, 30 * Ruined Leather Scraps.
If you receive 90 * Light Leather sooner, then you don't need to farming the additional scraps: 60 scraps will be enough in that case.
    • If Light Hide drops, keep it. The drop change 5 %, you will get around 2 - 3. Those will be enough.
    • Questing areas are good, because players often leveling with autoloot. So it's faster if you follow them in that case. Mobs respawn faster too.
    • Sell thrash items to the owner of farm regularly to free up some bag slots.
    • Go to Sentinel Hill.
    • Repair your gear.
    • Turn off Auto Loot under the Options/Interface/Controls menu.
    • Kill gnolls under the castle walls. They respawn immidiately here. See on map.
    • It's faster if you kill a lot of mobs without looting them, and later you pick up all cloth at once.
    • Collect: 160 * Linen Cloth.
    • You should keep Herbalism and Skinning, so you won't have to redo when Darkmoon Faire start.

    WARNING: This isn't final...

    • Start in Thunder Bluff.
    • Learn Mining as first profession and buy a Mining Pick.
    • Go down to Mulgore.
    • Turn on Auto Loot under the Options/Interface/Controls menu.
    • Activate Find Minerals to show resources on minimap.
    • My mining strategy: Start at here! Mount up and follow the foot of the mountains around the whole zone. Avoid any caves, mines and the tauren's starting area. They are lack of copper veins. Don't care about mobs, they are too low level to dismount you. Just ride around and collect minerals. Sounds boring, but it's pretty effective. A full round awards you around 80 ores and same number of stones.
The required time of mining is ~ 45 minutes here. Meanwhile you can watch TV. :)
    • Collect: 190 * Copper Ore, 190 * Rough Stone.
      Don't smelt any ores!
    • If any gems drop, keep them. You will need: 5 * Malachite or Tigerseye.
Copper vein drops a gemstone with 3 % chance. Sometimes it drops both! If you were unlucky, then you will need additional 25 * Copper Ore.
    • Go to Bloodhoof Village.
    • Learn Skinning as second profession and buy a Skinning Knife.
    • There are many skinnable animals around the Stonebull Lake.
    • My strategy is the following: Use your class abilities to pull as many animals as you can. A druid can spam moonfire, a warlock can spread corruption, a thief can throw, etc. Or simply mount up, than taunt three animals as moving in triangle shape. Your goal is to kill and loot them in group. A kodo family wanders above the lake. Don't give mercy: "Time is money, friend!". :D Don't go too far north, better if you stay in the center of the zone, close to the village.
After ~ 10 minutes you will be done.
    • Collect: 60 * Ruined Leather Scraps.
You will loot some, around 20 * Light Leather here too: don't worry about how many you have got at this point.
    • If your bags are full, you can sell junk items to the closest vendor of the village.
    • Drop skinning temporarily.
    • Go back to Orgrimmar. Use your hearthstone.
    • Fly to Tirisfal Glades by goblin zeppelin.
    • Go down to Brill.
    • Learn Herbalism as second profession.
    • Deactivate Find Minerals to hide ore veins on minimap.
    • Activate Find Herbs to show resources on minimap.
    • Collect: 70 * Peacebloom, 130 * Silverleaf, 70 * Earthroot.
As you will see, there are more silverleaf nodes in this zone than others.
The required time for herb gathering is ~ 1 hour here.
    • Travel to Hillsbrad Foothills.
    • Go to Tarren Mill.
    • Activate Find Minerals to show resources on minimap.
    • Collect: 14 * Briarthorn, 30 * Tin Ore, 30 * Coarse Stone.
This zone are full of Tin Veins, you will find enough in the surrounding mountains soon. Don't smelt any ores!
I suggest you to gathering herbs at east. The river side of the town is more peaceful for horde players.
    • Unlearn mining.
    • Unfortunately you must fly back to Brill, because there aren't any trainer nearby.
    • Learn Skinning as second profession.
    • Go to Southpoint Gate: it's the passageway to Silverpine Forest in southwest.
    • Head toward to the Azurelode Mine. On flat area there are many infested bears. See on map!
They are easy prey, because all of them are already at half health. Their fast respawn rate is another reason to stay here. Spiders won't slow you down, because they are harmless to horde players. After you reach 50 skill points: animals don't drop scraps anymore, and you will have high chance to receive two leathers at once. When you reach 75 skill points, you should have almost enough leather.
    • Collect: 90 * Light Leather.
    • If Light Hide drops, keep it. The drop change 5 %, you will get around 2 - 3. Those will be enough.
The required time for skinning is ~ 30 minutes here.
    • Sell thrash items to the vendor at the gate regularly to free up some bag slots.
    • In the end repair your gear.
    • Turn off Auto Loot under the Options/Interface/Controls menu.
    • Travel to Silverpine Forest.
    • Go to The Ivar Patch: is located in the northeast tip of the zone, near the main road.
    • Kill those fast-respawn worgens in the pumpkin farm and around it. They drop 1-3 cloth with high chance.
    • Collect: 160 * Linen Cloth.
    • You should keep Herbalism and Skinning, so you won't have to redo when Darkmoon Faire start.

Looks very nice, cant wait for it to be done.

this is surely going to benefit many people so they dont waste time doing proffesions in the wrong order or not having enough for the grind.

Tbh, i hope the account wide boa comes out soon because i dont need any more dmf, all i need is in my bags xD.

Excellent guide. You should request for it to be added to the Guides section, if you haven't already.

This is something that is very much so needed for newer F2Ps who are coming in after WoD.

Just finish up the Horde section when you can :)

Your sequence for doing the professions is very similar to mine, though I think yours might be a little more efficient. I don't pre-load materials, I just do them all during DMF. Your way allows for some of the time to be spread out to the weeks in between Faires, so good on that.

If I were you I would market this specifically as a DMF crafting strategy, rather than a full-on guide. Rhaellia's guide is extremely comprehensive, and your guide focuses more deeply on one aspect of the DMF. Use that to your advantage and orient this guide specifically to crafting professions, and I think you'll have a good shot at having it published in the guides section.

    It's in the title.

Nearly 2/3 of the tickets you farm in any given DMF come from sources other than professions. This guide focuses only on professions and doesn't replace the more comprehensive guide that we already have. Thus it will gain more acceptance as a supplement to that guide, focusing on a specific profession and crafting strategy, rather than an all-encompassing ticket farming guide which we already have. That distinction is not in the title.
