i thought they were just slow because ppl are queueing arenas + the fact that we have av as a random bg component?

It was an issue at 90 too. According to their list of hotfixes the bg queues should be resolved now. I suspect they have neglected the low level brackets in the process, as I still am sitting in hour long queues during peak hours. In a community where pops ranged from 1-10 min before patch, I think it safe to say something is not working as intended.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the spec imbalances. In the upper tiers, you are unable to respec once you enter a BG.
