To whom it may concern:
The item squish has made level 60 content relevant again for those who wish to do it in the appropriate gear.
1) I have found that in iLevel 50 or so gear (where you would enter MC), I pull about 200 dps as a ret paladin, which is a far cry from the 2k+ dps you can pull on live with some classes.
2) Enemy HP is unchanged and most raid enemies have received a noticeable damage increase.
3) Healing power is drastically lower; no more flash heals for 100% of your health.
These three aspects add up to a much, MUCH different PvE environment for level 60's. I actually think AQ10 will present a fair challenge in level appropriate gear. MC will be relatively easy in a group of 25-30 people decked out in questing greens/dungeon blues. BWL will be noticeably harder, but will likely still present a similar progression path for that group of 25-30. AQ40, on the other hand, might require 30+ if proper gear is used (no one goes in with a higher itemlevel than 75). The mechanics will require a significant number of dedicated healers again, drastically increasing the raid size compared today. Where you would need 2 tanks, 2 or 3 healers, and 10 dps to clear aq40 today might require 3 tanks (or more), 8-10 healers, and 20 dps.
On this topic, is anyone running level 60 content on ptr?
