Was messing around in some dungeons and came across an old cloth set that got me thinking... Check out this old cloth set bonus!

http://www.wowhead.com/item=24264At first it appears kinda irrelevant, but i began taking a deeper look and thought of something worth testing.
Even though the gear itself is kinda weak and requires the removal of sunwell pieces, You think it's possible to surpass the current glass-cannon build? Think about that set bonus fora moment! It basically improves the ratio of [Intellect to Spell power]. In other words every point of int you have, it will grant up to 7% more spell power from it!

I know it sounds silly, but lets assume you make a build with this set and literally go 100% raw intellect! In theory, would it be safe to assume your spell power in this set would grant more spell power than your sunwell counter-parts?

What you guys think? Worth looking into? Keep in mind that this testing is based 100% off BiS wearer's with maxed +Intel profs such as synapse springs, 148int from tailoring, ect.

Note: Top Item linked was changed to a better one thanks to player, Swiftyirl, for mentioning!

Spellfire Belt - Item - World of Warcraft At first it appears kinda irrelevant, but i began taking a deeper look and thought of something worth testing.

It may have been worth it back when Brilliant Cardinal Ruby's gave 20 int. Since then, intellect stacking isn't worth it and I don't think it would be worth it for the extra SP over crit/haste. It may be worth a try however but you would have to try and make up the lost stats somewhere.

Whitemend Hood - Item - World of Warcraft
Slightly better set bonus, and only requires you to replace 2 items instead of 3.

MUST READ!:
OK so here's where my thought process is! Upon inspection with spellpower int stacking builds, most players with substantial amounts of int will begin to reach a small "soft-cap" on how much spellpower their getting from it. To understand, do this... [Spellpower / Intellect] You will see how much spellpower 1 point of intellect grants you. Most classes gain 2spellpower per int, but this number diminishes when you reach excessive amounts of int for current level. The spellpower amount "soft-caps" and will reduce to like 1.9, 1.8, 1.5, etc.. But here's the interesting part about this set!!

------Would it be safe to assume that essentially you're raising your [intellect to Spellpower] ratio with this set bonus? In other words, can it result in higher spellpower with a weaker soft-cap diminish?

This may actually be really good come WoD.

At the moment gems are not nerfed on the beta. they still give 10 int. With the stat squish that means gems are gonna become super valuable as they will be huge stat boosts like before.

Example:
Fel Conquerer Raiments - Item - World of Warcraft

on live three 10+ int gems equals out to roughly 49% of the intellect provided by the chest.

Now compare the WoD version of the chest
Fel Conquerer Raiments - Item - World of Warcraft

On the beta three 10+ int gems works out to 120% of the intellect provided by the chest

Yeah the beta has been silly so far, I think the gems will be changed, Cataclysm and MoP epic gems are also +10 so, must be something wrong there.

Why is that wrong? Right now it's stupid because not all epic gems give the same stats. If they've fixed that scaling problem in WoD, then why is that a bad thing?

Oh but that's still the case, Strength is +10, Stamina is +15, what I ment is that all epic gems at different levels have the same stats. A Solid Empyrean Sapphire is +15 stamina (item level 70), but so is a Solid Deepholm Iolite (300 item level) and with the huge nerfs on stats on armor, almost 80% of your stats come from sockets and gems.

Which means you can get the same amount of stats on a 60/70 as you can on a level 85. My 70 has 50350 health, my 85 has 54000.
