Merging Expoff/Expon

  • You know I was getting the thinking that in WoD all classes are going to be squished and basically even if you have BiS gear for your lvl, those that are just leveling would be able to do bg's without having a huge blowout problem. The way I see it twinks will still be able to hit harder and have a higher % critting and just overall, but I feel even those that aren't twinks will be able to compete with the stat squish, am I right? Does anyone know if exp on and exp off will be merged? Or is it just going to stay the same and is it really a big deal to be lvl 80 instead of maybe staying the level you were like 85? Even WITH the higher scaling being lvl 80 the stat squish will make it so any level in that bracket is very viable. Just tossing out thoughts.

I mean the 80-89 bracket will be viable for BOTH levels imo. What do you guys think?

    What do you guys think?

it will be terrible.. 3 expansions in one bracket, how are they supposed to balance this?

The question is ofcourse, who will have the biggest advantage? And where should we twink?

It'll be either 80 or 85 because of raid gear, it'll probably scale up a lot stronger than random other gear.

I don't think XP-off and XP-on will merge though. The health levels would still be crazy as the gear will contribute a lot more to health than your level (the base).

As for damage, who knows how that works yet, yes it looks like there won't be much difference (sometimes 3 DPS between BiS and terrible crap), but who knows how much damage that ends up being, it's still the same %-wise.

It seems that 80s and 85s are both quite horribly off and 70 is the lucky winner on the current beta patch.

My 70 has more health and does more damage than my 80 (full 277/284 gear) and my 85 (mostly 410 gear) against targets of it's own level. Bonus Armor is going to rule the brackets as far as I can see (1 Bonus Armor = 1 AP) and only a few items exist that are available at levels (usually trinkets).

Did you test this in an instance or out in the world? The damage and mitigation bonuses you get from item level are only active in (level appropriate) instances.
