Viable options for a new to 70 beginner in The bracket?..always thought palli but open to advice!

Ive always wanted to make a ret palli twink..I think they have amazing burst and once and that stun with a good palli burst..but too easily kited etc

Nah it's actually got real good dmg, just gotta play with the right disc and not fuck up with your defensives

Idk man, by this logic every spec is fine at 70 as long as you play with Disc. It's obviously not true because otherwise it wouldn't be infested with prot palas and rogues, rather than a more spread population.

when I played 70, arms warriors were pretty much shit no damage. Only way you would get kills would be if you would get lucky

Most arms dmg is from Deep Wounds, crits for around 3k iirc, coupled with the actual warr and disc doing dmg and disc spamming dispel you can get a lot of pressure

But every spec IS fine at 70 as long as you play with a Disc, at least up to 2.2 maybe 2.4. Perhaps not some of the more obscure ones like frost dk/demo/fury but every class has at least 1 spec viable to those ratings. The reason it's so full of prots, rogues and hunters (and to some extent, mages), is because it's a lot easier to succeed with those classes due to the raw damage output, compared to classes such as warlock and monk where you have to set up to get a kill.

Whilst it's true you will get a lot further by setting up as a prot/mage/rogue/hunter disc, you passively have so much more pressure simply because you do so much damage throughout. You're not going to randomly instagib someone as a monk.

Literally every comp with the exception of prot/disc revolves around the Disc knowing when to go offensive and when to use cds. The only reason prot/disc is different is because the prot is doing all the setup, the disc is just dispelling and pressing mindbender when told to - it's for this reason that prots such as Aswog and Elypsia have been able to get to like 2.6+ with pretty much any disc, regardless of the disc's actual ability as a player.
