How good are healers now?

Just came back to WoW after a somewhat long break and I want to get back into the 20-24 bracket! Was thinking about making a holy paladin or atleast a healer. But I heard that healing got nerfed quite hard in BG's. Are healers still okey or are they bad?

Anything other than an rdruid/stam stacking hpal will get rocked by a decent player, f2p or p2p. If you're not like 99% of the 24 healers I encounter, then play w/e you want.

Well even with 60% debuff healers heals at this level are extremely powerful relative to HP.

Hardest part is trying to heal through that eyepatch or p2p hunter that can just jump and do a focus dump and pew pew goes 1500 hp in like 3 globals unless you are a druid and can shift the concussive shot. Rogues 1000 ambush on mail hurts too. Sometimes I have to trinket conc shot(XD) or poisons just to make it.

All 4 healers are really good, but druids are the most idiot friendly and can top charts without any effort, didn't 19s try to put a cap on those restoration druids ike a month ago?

I mean if you got like 3.5k-4.5k hp and the 1800 mana as a p2p what I said above about hunters doesn't really matter, you can just heal through all of the damage.

You cannot get 1,800 mana. And if two p2p rogues or hunters get on you 3,500 health will not last long.

Healing is probably at it's weakest ever state. However you can still make a huge difference to small scale fights.

You can output about as much healing as a hunter can output damage. This means that if you get a hunter + anything on you, you will not outheal it, but generally with both druids and hpallies, you can either outdistance it, or CC it.

You'd better get good at fakecasting.

You'd better be acutely aware of your position relative to their big damage units, and your backup heals/peels/CC's.

Stam stacking is the only way to go, druids can alternately go haste, but 2.7k hp is minimum. Hurricane on wep for both imo.

Dispells are incredibly important, they can be worth 4-5 heals at times, and dispelling HoJ is a busy job with the amount of pallies in the bracket. Hunters serpent sting ticks for around 5 billion, so if possible, clean it up.

Easiest trick to deal with rogues (Which will ruin you with ease if you don't get away) for druids is to travel form -> wild charge leap -> dispell -> travel form ruuuun. For pallies, just HoJ -> dispel -> run and pray, and make sure you get a judgement on them to keep them from restealthing. When you can get a denounce on huntards and rogues to kill their crit, makes your job easier.

Healers are still fun, just a lot more challenging, and no longer godlike in survivability. Horde always needs more heals, do it!

You can get even more as a non-priest with 150 mana to head and 188 on chest. It's nearly 2200 mana max.
That is IF you have helm enchanted with the grandfathered mana enchant. Which practically ALL twinks went with Stamina at the time since mana was no issue. Back then, just as now, stamina trumps everything. A level 20-24 caster with an 1800+ mana pool is pure conjecture. I am not stating it is not impossible but very improbable.

188 mana on chest = 1740 to a holy pala, the guy was probably just rounding it up.

You literally said you can not get 1800 mana? I'm not saying it's likely to have 150 mana on head, and i'm not saying it's a very valuable enchant either.

I really don't think you want to split hairs with me. If you have nothing to add to the original post, I suggest you don't post.

Healers are just fine. As has been indicated in other threads, you should concentrate on a nice health pool. As long as you do that you should be fine. You won't need any more than the base 800 mana pool. Just carry few pots and maybe a stack of drink just in case. Alliance is always in need of heals since most of the players run hunters and rogues due to easier to acquire agility gear. Horde usually has two - three healers due to easier to acquire caster gear.

This is not a discussion about mana above 800 being valuable, and I never said anything like it.
It's not splitting hairs when at first you claim something's not possible at all, and later twist it so you don't look like a fool.
Personally I think you didn't know 150 mana to head existed at all, and now you're trying to cover it up. (That's what you made it look like)

Then why do keep mentioning it? Post something relevant to the original post instead of your personal feelings.

Moving on, since 5.4 heals have had a plethora of enchanting decisions to make. There simply is no "BiS" enchants. Is all depends on your play style. Me, I like to get into the thick of things with my shamans so I go with lots of stamina enchants. If your play style is more that you care to top the charts you may want spellpower. I don't care if I top the charts or not. I just want to win, heal, and dispell.
