Dungeon Transmog

I read up, watched a video, on the dungeon transmog trick. It didn't work for me though. Please tell me what I did wrong, or does it not work anymore?

90 hunter running a 24 hunter through gnomer. The rare gun dropped. 90 looted it, both hearthed to SW. 90 transmogged it to a level 90 gun (tried 6 bows and guns after it failed). With it still equipped and still in group, the 90 traded it to the 24. And the mog disappeared. All done within the 2 hour window.

Any help would be very appreciated!

You havnt read enough then, you cant transmog something a level 24 wouldnt be able to use normally, so using it on a level 24 is kinda useless.

Tested as of after 5.4.1: no longer working. However, have heard hearsay that it does still work( It doesn't seem reliable tho)

Would you mind explaining which items you used, when, and how. I've tried doing it exactly the same as i have in the past and it doesn't work anymore.

For people wanting higher level transmogs!!!


You have to run an instance that drops a blue BOP item with someone CROSS server....they can then take that item and transmog it into an item from a quest that has no level requirement and return to the instance within the 2hr period and trade the item straight from their character back to you without putting it in their bags it will keep the mog...yes it does work I did it on my hunter not long ago...


You have to be cross server
It has to be a BOP blue dungeon drop
You must mog it into an item with no level requirement (most quest rewards)

run dungeon, get item you want, have the booster pick it up and mog it with either something that's level appropriate or a quest item and then have them trade it you through the time window.
