Ochiwana - 80 Rogue - Need help!

Ochiwana

Legend
Hello Everyone,

Well basically I was wondering if some really good theory crafters could check my rogue Ochiwana if I can improve it more, since I think it's pretty much BiS for Assassination (Still after Frostbitten Fur Boots), if people think otherwise I would love to hear what you have to suggest, and we can discuss about it :) Always want to improve my toons.

- Ochiwana/ßonescythe (Raid Leader + Officer in http://www.twinkinfo.com/forums/f12...ce-level-80-twink-guild-argent-dawn-eu-53919/)

As Assassination your main stat is mastery isn't it? :)

To optimise a DPS set as much as possible:
- Download simulationcraft
- Enable the stat weights you want it to output and any buffs you want to include (both in the options)
- Import your character and manually adjust the gems/enchants to what they scale down to
- Add the following 2 lines to the Overrides tab (change 83 to 88 if you're optimising for Cataclysm raids):
level=80
target_level=83
- Sim the profile and copy the stat weights from the output into a Wowhead item search (bare in mind that items with Cata gems in will be giving false scores since it doesn't scale the gems down, so you'll need to calculate those manually and compare them to the other values in the column after clicking one of the numbers twice).
- Change the gear in your sim profile to the best gear in the lists (enchants will need to be calculated manually), then repeat the process until the gear you simmed is equal to the top gear in the Wowhead search (sometimes it might alternate between a couple of items instead of settling for one, in which case just pick one or you can to do some really tedious fine tuning with your reforging/gems that won't make much difference anyway).

That's all quite a lot of work but it's the only way to get a true "BiS" unless someone else has already done the research. Old trinket and set bonuses aren't included in Simcraft anymore so you'll need to use your own judgement for those.

Edit: And if you're not automatically hit/exp capped like strength melee are, use WowReforge or something similar to figure out how to reforge most efficiently.

Edit2: Oh and the procs from weapon enchants don't scale down properly in Simcraft either, so you'll need to remove them from your profile and then use your own judgement to decide which to use.

Wouldn't suggest playing assassination, the difference between playing assassination and combat is the equivalent of equipping a shadowmourne in each hand.

There's bad specs like feral (and perhaps ret), and then there's assassination. Please don't persist using that spec.

Isnt this what Twinking is all about trying out new stuff and cross boundries, I wanna play Assassination whatever people will say, yes I do have Combat/Sub gear but I just dont like playing those specs, I just want to get the best out of Assassination.

I'll try this out tomorrow thanks for trying to help me already! :)
