Mage update 5.4

Alright so I got this mage close to BiS pre 5.4 Cornesso @ Draenor - Community - World of Warcraft.
But is it worth updating it to 5.4 enchants? Can you even solo stuff anymore? And are queues still not poping?

If it is worth getting up to date, what should I change then?

OT: I haven't played my 80 in a while, I haven't updated chants either. I'm pretty sure queue's still aint popping and solo'ing stuff is a lot hard. RIP Lifeblood Haste.

I think I'll just keep it at 80. Perhaps some day they will change it, and 80's will become fun again I can always lvl another char

For a mage i do not now. Soloing as prot paladin still works well though. It just takes awhile to kill stuff as vengeance do not bug anymore.

I would keep your 80 or maybe lvl to 85 for PvP and fast pops.

How are queue times for 85's? Also I've heard 86/87 is viable aswell due to more gear but still some scaling?

My 85 is on Outland and queues horde side are 10min in prime time an 15 max rest of the time with daily pops. AFAIK that's the last active twink bracket if you take away 20_24. You gonna hate Sunlute twinks but beside that its as fun as old 70 bracket and pretty balanced burstwise. Healers and hybrids are solo killable too. And that's a big plus in my book.
