So I'm looking for insight from US and EU on this question. Are Rets any good @ 70? I mean I know they're outshined by prot, but that doesn't classify them as bad right?

The issue as Hakuna pointed out is the amount of HP / CC You'll have available to use, none the less retribution paladin does look like a great deal of fun.
I'd love to see some of the faggot mongolian braindead prot rerollers play ret, I would have a lot of respect for them as Ret is one of the hardest specs to play at lvl 70 period, would be sick to see some decent disc ret team go high
