I've just read the two threads that I assume most of you have seen. The threads about both of our fellow Twinks Fog and Uraflamer dying. Not too long ago another Twink died, Sneaky. I don't like "passed away" it sounds too nice to me, so I say "they died". I'm sorry if that upsets you but it should, it should be upsetting. They died, they're gone and that is very real and makes everything on these forums seem meaningless in comparison.
I see a lot of really rude, ignorant, and mean posts on these forums. Some of it is harmless teasing, some of it is friends teasing each other but a lot of it isn't teasing. It's just mean and rude.
We all are here for the same thing, we have different opinions on how that thing should be done, but we're all here for that reason. We might play differently, on a different server or faction or even at a different level but we all have a similar interest somewhere. We argue a lot, "discuss" things, we're passionate about our toons, our gear, and our WoW as a whole.
Sometimes we forget the people behind these names. We say mean things, we argue a little too much, call each other names. Then something real happens, something that means more then anything we've whined about or yelled at each other about.
Someone dies and that shakes everything up. It makes you think.
I didn't know Sneaky, Uraflamer or Fog. I never will. But there's a part of us that we all shared.
That is Twinking. Maybe we disagree on things, what we should or shouldn't do, certain stats, whatever. At the end of the day you shared something that was important to them and to most of us. Playing WoW in our own little weird twink way, and gathering together on a dorky forum to share that love of twinking in a very passionate yet sometimes mean and or rude way :O
Everyone can be difficult but please remember sometimes people are being difficult cause life is being difficult. People aren't perfect and life isn't perfect, we say things that are mean and rude, it happens. We make mistakes. We have good days we have bad days, and sometimes we're having a bad life! It happens.
Tl;dr: "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."
