Getting Into Twinking -- Trying Out 70 Bracket First!

Myrm

Legend
Hello everyone.

I truly enjoyed raiding and PvP during BC and I figure that given that, 70 bracket is the obvious choice for my first ever twink :)

- What I would like to know is what guilds in the bracket need the most class/spec?
- Do different guilds have different requirements on what is allowed insofar as gearing (IE using BoA and Heirlooms)?
- Best server/faction for this bracket?

Thank you all for your time and I look forward to your responses!

1) I havent noticed any guilds that really stand out majority of the kinda high pop realms always have a guild and its filled with people ranging from pvp/pve but not really on a serious level. (best bet if you're interested in pvp is find some friends that are interested and try it with friends its a very simple bracket that rely's on classcomp>skill there's literally back peddling clicking players at 2k rating because of their classes.

2) using BoA and heirlooms arent a known issue because they arent generally bis, some of the "hardcore" guilds that want to keep it as close to BC as possible dont allow WoTLK gems/chants/tinkers for their members to use for guild events/raiding

3) As i said before this is just from my PoV but server doesnt really matter each highpop server will have 70s on its just a matter of which little group suits your specific niche of what you want, i would however recommend BH as there is a pretty big population of good 70s there yet alone people who are active TI users that have 70s there on horde side. For faction if you want a rogue id recommend alliance nelf for the shadowmeld is just to good to pass-up on but same can be said about the blanket silence for belfs, Probably preference for this one i wouldn't recommend choosing your characters faction based off what is "better" choose a faction YOU want then you can decide on the race :p

Sweet, US.

First question is fairly straight forward, there are not as many guilds as there were back in Wrath and Cata though. This link will send you to the usual 70's thread in battle.net, most of the guilds are listed on the main post ( If thread caps or gets deleted, someone usually posts another shortly after in the battleground forum. ) 70s thread of Light's love (5.4) - Forums - World of Warcraft

Pssst, you're more than welcomed over in our guild.

Aside from that, in regards to gear it's not similar to the lower twinking brackets, you won't see BoAs up here unless someone didn't farm their 2.2k honour minimum on their way to 70. Some guilds are strict, others not so much; we have very few of those "Gem only BC gems and enchants!" ( They don't live very long in terms of interest and will to be below the average twink, most PvErs end up PvPing. ) US is pretty much entirely a PvP community with minimum PvE, aside with a few full 25 man SWPs that occur every tuesday in wrath enchants / gems.

There's no guild to my knowledge whom are going to decline you for having a lack of gear, but I do suggest farming up a decent amount of honor for brutal ( 2.2k min ), and perhaps some JP for wrath gems.

My opinion is biased on server! But an attempt to be honest, Tichondrius H, Frostmane H, Sargeras A, Darkspear A, Moonguard A. Alliance has had the upper hand the past few months, but it does tend to balance out ( Which personally I find nice for healthy communities on both sides. )

Thanks for the information guys.

I have decided to go Shaman for Resto primary and Ele secondary. That is what I played back in the day.

I am going to roll on Moon Guard and join up with you Val if that is okay. At least get the ball rolling!

I will PM you my Battletag and you can add me!

It's a two shot fest. Not really a good bracket to get into as a 'first twink' kind of scenario. On top of that, the wait times for BGs and arenas are horrendous (~40 minutes during prime time).

I don't know much about US so can't really help you much, but I wish you luck in this being the first bracket you twink in drama aside it is certainly the most active bracket. :)

Idk what faction/region you play, but in primetime US alliance gets 10-15 minute Ques, I mean the bracket is kinda bursty but there are ways to counter said burst. Quite fun bracket imo. Vouching for valencia and twisted nethers, great guild leader/guild :D

edit: forgot to include the 1-3 min arena pops during the evening :)

yeah..peak times im getting down to 5 min ques. normal is about 12. almost instant arenas. not sure what times hes referring to.
