Hi is trial WoW worth playing??

Why did Dubbs quit? What is the main reason? I saw Dubbs' videos on YouTube and I decided to play WoW again! (only trial but)
It seems like Dubbs quit because he stopped making videos.. Is trial WoW worth my gaming time or should I play something else? Like LoL or something thanks!

Yeh definitely the 20-24 twink bracket is pretty big right now, and if you can play your class and gear them well it's a lot of fun. Twinking in my opinion is more fun than endgame content. Plus this is a great community and whatever realm you choose I'm sure people would be happy to help you!

If masochism gets your rocks off. Self loathing is BiS.

I think its a fun thing to do on my downtime, I've always enjoyed WoW when I used to pay and coming back as a trial its a lot more relaxed. Its really nice having the level cap because you don't have to worry about future expacs forcing you to go through boring questing again and getting the new top gear. Once you have your bis gear its probably gonna be almost exactly the same years later, which I find really nice. The ques pop pretty fast around the clock, the game quality varies but I usually find it enjoyable. The community is pretty strong with f2p which is a big plus (thanks yasueh)

LoL is definitely more balanced gameplay wise because you don't have to play like a god on certain classes to compete with others, but I always liked being your own toon personally

Completely agree with everything Kibbies said. :) Saves me typing!

Not sure how masochism is involved, but there are all kinds of F2P communities and people with similar interests to hang out with. :) Maybe just hang out on a few servers for a bit to get a feel for what you enjoy.

Not sure why Dubbs isn't around, might be a (very :() prolonged break or actual quitting. F2P can turn frustrating or boring for some people of course, but it is very nice in that you can leave it for quite a while without losing money or falling behind on the gear treadmill. Maybe school, college or work is keeping Dubbs busy, maybe he'll be back on his druid or rogue again or one day soon be tempted back to do awesome demon jumps on his lock on Aerie Peak. :)

Right now, level 20 players benefit from stat scaling on their base stats, secondary stats, and gear stats. Those stats are increased to align with level 24 players, in some cases giving them the ability to compete with 24s.

Level 24 FOTM classes (priests, wars, paladins, druids, and hunters) are still going to have an advantage over level 20 players because of access to better enchants and more abilities. In 5.4, level 24 players will see an increased advantage (5-15%) from higher level enchants becoming available (Mongoose, Dancing Steel, Jade Spirit, Power Torrent, Landslide, Elemental Force, Executioner, ect) in addition to leg, shoulder enchants, and scopes (inscription, rep, spell threads, leg armors, Wood Chucker, ect).

These additional enchants do scale down in power to be more appropriate for low level characters, but they do not scale down far enough to have a negligible impact on the game, especially in this bracket.

Some enchants are going to stand out above others, especially for this bracket and the FOTM classes we have.

IE: X-Ray Scope for hunters will proc for 150 ranged AP, Elemental Force will proc for 120-240 damage per hit or tick for melee/ranged DPS, Mongoose will proc for 90 agi and 22 haste for rogues, monks, druids, and shamans, Executioner will proc for 90 crit rating for anyone, and Power Torrent will proc for 75 int for casters and healers.

There's a spreadsheet of how enchants will scale per item slot and character level you can check out here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnBPvCvqWJ3udENtVlVmcjA4Q3ZQWmZKWHE3c201UXc#gid=5

According to this information, 5.4 will considerably change the way the 20-24 bracket plays and make it much harder for level 20 players to compete, since they won't have access to any of these new enchants.

There are also some class changes that will increase the power level of 24s even further, increasing the performance gap between level 20 and level 24 players.

So to answer your question, it will only be worth it to make a level 20 player if:

- you want the increased challenge.
- you plan on only playing with other players in a wargames setting (2v2/3v3/5v5/BGs) where you can prevent level 24s from participating.

Otherwise you will be at an extreme disadvantage in 5.4.
