Cross Realm WPvP Event #3

Players on Aerie Peak do not need to sign up but you could reply below if you want. We will start inviting people from the F2PChannel about 30 minutes before the event.

Players on other US realms can sign up by linking your character armory or listing:
name / faction / server.

In the second post I will make a list of all the Cross Realm people. 30 minutes before the event we will check these realms and send out invites. If you miss the invite or did not sign up for Cross Realm then you could come to Aerie Peak on a new character and ask for an invite. We can then send someone to your realm to add your character.

Hunters and Rogues will be limited, if you have a different class then please use that instead.

In the previous two events we used Zul'Gurub and Warlocks to summon people after each death. This time it will be a new zone and just some traditional WPvP in which players spawn by ghost running back. We will still use the Warlocks to summon everyone at the start of the battle. We can go back to ZG in a future event but did not want people to get bored of it.

We are looking for a zone that has lots of Line of Sight and is relatively safe for level 20's. Here are a few examples and if you have other ideas then post below and we will check them out.

1. Seradane. A large empty place in the Hinterlands with a structure in the middle.

2. Alterac Mountains. A large zone with many different buildings and is also filled with lvl 26 Ogres.

3. Feralas Dome. A smaller area that has columns for LoS and a balcony above. This Dome is empty and outside there are many other buildings with some lvl 37 Ogres.

What if we had a high level on mob duty, for areas such as the alterac mountains? He wouldn't interfere with the f2ps but would kill mobs whenever or wherever they spawned (no AoE ofc).

Plenty of LoS points, but the reason why I like it so much, is teh place is littered with Explosive Stockpiles , which when attacked will detonate and send people flying, plenty of uses in a pvp situation.


Its major drawback is its proximity to Orgrimmar. So the event would need to be held on a server dominated by Alliance, and would need a possible backup server for if any high levels invade.


Its not ultra practical, but I think its a good spot that should be at least considered.

DAM this sounds like a great spot , I do love the explosives :)
 
What I also rlly dig about spike's suggestion is that if we fight on the main building ground its basicalle midway between the low part and going out of the mine. So its fun for ele shamans and for having some sneak away battles ; )

PS: bring ur slow fall stuff!!

Did they change something? I don't remember armor losing durability in world PvP since like the Burning Crusade.
 
I did not think WPvP breaks armor, but you can hearth and then get a summon back if that happens.
 
I assumed he was talking about world pvp, since that's what this topic is about. In battlegrounds/arenas, your gear doesnt break. Out in the world, it does.

One thing i dont know is if it breaks in pvp zones like wintergrasp. Can anyone weigh in on this?

I'm not saying you're wrong, because something might have changed, but, my P2P career started on the day WoW was released, and I played my main character on a PvP server until just after WotLK was released, and you did not take a dura hit from dying in PvP of any kind. If another player scored the blow that killed you, you did not take a dura hit from dying. As far as I know, that hasn't changed since WotLK.

It is also true that every time you swing your weapon, in PvP or PvE, your gear takes a little durability from -use-. Likewise your gear takes a little durability from taking damage. That's just equipment wear, and has always been true for all forms of combat. We're talking about the 10% durability hit from dying, though, which only applies if you die from a non-PvP source.
