BiS 24 Warlock

neither of those armories are very good, I wouldn't be taking engineering for a lock atm - the loss of crit/stam/int/haste on the BoA cloak for pvp power really isn't worth it, plus you get to take skinning for an additional % crit
 
One of those two warlocks linked is me. I've tried many combinations, I have literally every piece of gear available, and this is what I use in pug WSG. I have never claimed to use a "Bis" combination although I am sure I have come close in my tests. I don't care what it says on paper, I go by what it feels like to play the toon.

PS. I take engineering on my lock and priest for the mechbuilders, the cloak, and bombs mainly.
PPS. I normally wear my BoA ring, but it's on another toon right now. Still not hit capped with it, but close enough that I feel good.

Hit cap with a spell like "fear" is too important to ignore.

If I were premading another level 24 guild, perhaps.

With every character, there is a time and place for everything. As I said, I have everything and have multiple quick swap gear sets depending on the situation. For instance, on my spriest, I can go from 1600hp in a super INT set or I can pick up the flag and go to 2400hp with my FC set (which I still need a couple items still). On both the lock and priest, I have multiple items with different enchants to fit into the mix too... like each of them have 2 BoA Chests, one with +4 stats and the other with +100hp. 5.4 is going to only complicate the sets. :) hehe

Oh and I don't think I can recall a time, even with the current gear set (+boa ring) since that's what I normally wear, that I have missed a fear because of hit cap.

I don't remember the last time I played my 24 lock anyhow.

PS. Please don't take my defense of my gear choices as me trying to "think" I am "BiS". While I have the gear in my bags to make it happen, I don't. What I wear is what I found most effective for my play style.

I'll probably just play around with different sets aswell, to see what i like.
