Bangalash's claw vs blackvenom blade on 24 rogues

No idea how it scales on lvl 21 rogues so I'' just focus breaking down both daggers for 24s.


Bangalash's Claw
23 - 43 Damage
(18.4 damage per second)
+5 Agility
+4 Stamina
+2 Hit (0.81% @ L24)


Blackvenom Blade
21 - 40 Damage
(16.7 damage per second)
+8 Agility
Chance on hit: Poisons target for 5 Nature damage every 3 sec for 15 sec.

Bangalash's Claw has a 1.7 DPS difference.

It takes 14 Attack Power to raise 1 point of DPS. 1 agility=2 Attack Power. Blackvenom blade offers 8 agility which is 1.14 DPS add.

16.7+1.14=17.8

17.8 vs 18.4 raw DPS. I am not even factoring in 5 agil coming off the claw nor the 2 hit which adds whatever % to white hits.

Am I missing something? Someone enlighten me why do 24 rogues use this? Mass deadly poison damage? Swag points? Used to be BiS agil hunter weapon??
 
as good as it is, the fact that it breaks gouges and saps is gamebreaking...if you play against anyone with half a brain they'll survive longer than 3 sec, bis rogue is dalrends MH and claw OH

Doesn't matter if you have a brain or not when you get hit 1,5k ambush -> torrent -> hemo -> 1k evis.

Have you got any calcs/proof that loom MH + bangalash OH are bis? Or it just is like that because you say so?

Do you need to read his post again? He made the point that BVB is worse because it breaks saps and gouges, which has nothing to do with calcs. And having 10ap less, or so, doesn't mean that you won't be getting 1.5k ambush and 1k evis. Just a tiny bit less.

I'm pretty sure it's you who needs to read my post again.

At no point did I mention anything about BVB. I said no matter how good you are, there is a chance you get globalled by a p2p rogue before being able to do anything, therefore "if you play against anyone with half a brain they'll survive longer than 3 sec" is a false statement.

I also wanted to know why does he think loom sword + bangalash is better than any other combo for a 24 rogue, I never said BVB is the best.

BVB is BiS for swag and better ambushes. Other than that, Bangalesh's Blade is usually better since hit also increases poison procs
 
There's been plenty of threads on this. Go use the search function if you've an interest in looking at calculations.

(The 20-24 forum existed before Mesikammen fled from 19s)

Maybe you can link me some calcs since you seem so sure? I just searched "bis 24 rogue weapon" and 20 pages of results came up, do you really think I'm going to look through all of them instead of simply asking this guy?

Uhhhmmm... how can it break sap when you never apply the posion when you sap? Also, the DoT breaks Gouge, but so does the posion you apply to your weapon.

we're not discussing rogues ability to global people, we're discussing BiS weps - please use search to see curleys proof of dalrens + claw being bis. I don't enjoy regurgitating old posts

Tried the advanced search, can't even use '24' as a keyword, and you take a guess what you will find with keyword 'rogue' 'curley'? That's right, a few dozen epeen stroking threads from the 19s section.

But since you guys are so certain, why don't you link the thread you're talking about to me, or explain yourselves? I'm sure it wouldn't be hard with your godlike search function skills.

Oh btw shadowfang is bis 24 rogue mainhand, just go google it, there's a thread about it in google which explains it all...

Ok, I just spend 30min searching and I cannot find any calculations from Curley why dalrens + claw = BiS. I searched BVB vs Bangalash, BiS 24 Rogue Weapon and I went to Curley's recent posts and looked through the first 20 pages. I went into almost every thread and looked for calculations, but I'm unable to find them. I might overlooked it, or I'm doing something wrong or I've to search even further. If you could tell me where I could find it I would really appreciate it as I'm interested in those calculations :)

The complexity of this function given to us by these forums may perplex some of you, but moving your cursor and clicking the box allows you to type, from there you can use keys to enter and form the desired words and finally you may again mobilize your cursor in order to click the magnifying glass (or alternatively press enter!)
