Final Adjustments for a general Hunter (Aimed at PUGGING)

Phrontistery

i was making waves u was surfing in 'em
  • So. I have my general Hunter sorted out, don't care about RoP, LFH, armor kits, all that stupid >I AM BIS< Bs.

However, I would like to know whether I should be using
    Serra'kis (6 agility 6 stamina) or Wolf Bracers (4 agility, 5 stamina, 4 crit)
    Both bracers have +1 Agility.

Also, with my gear set up should I be using Hogger's (11 agility, 11 hit) or Smelting (10 agility, 4 stamina, 4 crit)

    Gear set I am using here;

Also don't bother telling me to change other pieces of gear, as I do not care.

I like black wolf better due to the healthy piece crit vs only 2 agi. If tiger goggs scale to 5 hit you have perfect cap in that gear both inside and outsjde BGs so go with smelting.

Going to do some extensive testing using both sets, via Recount.
Will return with my results. :)

EDIT: Results obtained * PVE *
Maybe I will do some PvP testing tomorrow, but for now here is some PvE testing.
(Ragefire Solo - clearing all mobs, ran it through 10 times for clarification, 5 in each set. Also helps my random item farming ^.^)

So I ended up with a ton of statistics from Recount, but it was all basically predictable, Crit gear hit slightly less, crit more.. Agi gear hit slightly more, crit less. Boring.
But there's the DPS from those 10 runs.
311 on the crit items, 301 on the agility. /shrug.

you could stack crit, or just listen to all the bads and stack agility/stam. the choice is yours my friend.

I would go with crit. 8 crit vs 3 agi seems clearly better to me. You don't need the hit from hogger's as you are already hit capped with DPR and goggles. And considering that Arcane Shot and Steady Shot only scale with crit.

Given the choice between slightly higher damage or higher crit. I would chose the crit, because PVP is not only a numbers game but more important a human interaction. Crits give you the advantage, because they are hard to anticipate forcing your enemy healer to heal sooner or risk dropping the health to low.
