mongoose ench or tazic shocker at 19...patch 5.4?

Do helm enchants on items still work? Like if i log on a 85 with the helm would i get the stat bonuses?

This will be exciting. If the enchants can be used on any level gear then the theory of only BOAs and BOEs being best in slot based off enchants goes out the window. You can easily have an enchanter enchant any piece of gear. This will bring back leg, shoulder, and head attachements. The curiosity to this is the SP enchants and some of the higher end lvl 90 enchants that will be scaled down but make a HUGE difference in stats for low levels. Also, it'll be exciting to see the different builds IF ring enchants with enchanting work and same with engineering and weapons.

ALSO with its being announced that Arena Skirmishes are without a doubt coming back to WoW. Those that remember playing in Vanilla and BC, twinking should sprout back to that again, maybe even higher. These adjustments are going to allow a more variety of builds to be played at all level of twinking. I'm expecting the 24s to move back down to the 19s like the old days and it become more competative than ever.

Though thngs will be scaled down, the wider variety of enchants will be huge.
Remember these enchants will allow new things such as...
Cloak: Spell pen, crit, agi, int
Chest: Dodge, Resil
Bracers: Haste, crit, expertise, Attack Power(AP), Spell Power(SP), Dodge, all stats
Gloves: SP, Fire SP, Frost SP, Shadow SP, Expertise, Hit, Crit, AP, Mastery
Waste: maybe engineering attachments
Legs: LW, a Tailoring attachments.
Boots: Mastery, AP, Hit/Crit, Mastery/Speed, Stam/Speed, Agi/speed, Spirit/stam
Rings: maybe enchants enchants
1H Weapon: Crit/Hit, AP, SP, Frost/Shadow SP, Arc/Fire SP, Frost SP, Landslide, Windwalk, Blade Ward, Blood Draining, Beserking, Lifeward, Icebreaker, Mongoose, Battlemaster, Avalanche, Mending, Deathfrost, Hurricane, Power Torrent, Heartsong, Spellsurge.
2H Weapon: Massacre, and SP
Off-hand/shield: Int
Shield: Mastery, Parry, Dodge, Resil, Dmg when blocking, resistance, Spirit/stam
Bow/Gun: Maybe engineering attachments such as Hit, Crit, Haste and Woodchucker.

(the only reason i say maybe on a few things is because they may not allow us to have those attachments without having that profession at that level requirement for the attachment.)

Another question may be, Should you get the lower lvl version of some of the enchants because the mats may be cheaper or how is it going to scale. I'm sure it'll scale the same but it's a thought.

Should be VERY interesting to see all of the new builds. I'll probably go with a Max SP build on my priest, and haste on my sham. and either AP/crit or haste/crit on the hunter.. may even try a huge AGI build. I would think this adjustment would bring mages back into a more viable class to play in the 19s bracket as well.

If I don't have a BOA with enchant on it does it mean I can't be BiS :(

I'm confused why you would even think that. If you have a boa with enchant on it, you can either keep the enchant because it's already BiS or replace it with a better enchant.

Perhaps someone could make a post of every single known viable enchant for each slot when it comes closer to 5.4 and we know more information as well as make it a sticky for a while. Similar to what jumpy was doing. Even listing mats of each would be nice for those who are lazy.

i have ruby shades withe old +8 stam ench, works on players 50+ and my 70's head enchants are still active, so i guess they are GF'd.

my friend had a extra arcanum of voracity, and noticed that head wording was removed, and can only be used on legs.

Well it was the fact that they mentioned engineering, since engineering doesn't have any enchants that can be used on items. Exept for gun/bow enchant, which i just thought of right now... So i guess i disproved my own theory :)

engs have cloak tinker enchants, that stack with a regular enchants, and i believe tailoring does too.. now sure if the parachute or glider will scale down. as of now i can mail a BOA cloak and put a tinker on it, and mail it to another player,, but requires 450 eng for other player to use

This might just make every Spec/Class viable again. (With the right build ofcoarse)

Why would it make every spec viable? The ability scaling will still be shit for (for example) aff locks and fury warriors.

Yet you can shoot for the most precise build for a class as possible. For ex: Frost mages can stack more frost power since they'll be more available spots to equip the stat. Each class will have a more direct build approach to their class/spec instead of every caster wearing the same BOA helm with the same stats for instance simply because it's the only top viable piece.

Edit: Viable may not be the best word. More of "Unique & Diverse" depending on their strengths as like 90's

I think it will make most specs viable for all classes but just like 90s not every spec will be viable. However, I think EVERY class will have a strong viable spec. What this also bring is huge versatility to the bgs. I'm very excited for the new changes. I look forward to 19s being stronger and more popular than ever before. If it could only reach what we saw in Vanilla and BC I will be pleased. And hopefully many of the 19 verterans who migrated to 24s will make there way back to 19s again; such as myself.

Every class already has strong viable specs, and classes are already diverse in BG's.

The only 19s vets who went to 24s were those individuals who missed their ability to slaughter noobs before exp-off battlegrounds.

With these 'changes', everyone will just have to expend a lot of time and gold to keep up with what will ultimately be the current status quo.

Though every class has something to offer, there are still a few classes that at BiS are quite a bit better than all else (Surv Hunters, Disc/Shadow Priests, Resto/Boomkin Druids.) Though we can't deny there will always be OP classes in every BG i think that these new adjustments will help classes that were lacking survivability to be that much better.

I've noticed many vets who are in 24s because of the drama they experience in the 19s and I've noticed even more vets who spend time in both brackets. I think these changes will bring a stronger competition to the 19 bracket and hopefully more premades.

For the most part I think we are on the same page. The gold and time will be a bit farming will be a bit lame but worth it in the end. However, I'm sure most of us will be prepared to hit the ground running when patch hits and be messing around with builds the day of. Very excited for what's to come.

Anyone have new word on when we may be seeing Arena Skirmishes again? Last I saw it was stated that they were bringing it back but not with 5.3. Perhaps 5.4? or in a very near future.

I like how you feel as if you can speak (or think) for everyone else. I disagree with this statement. I am only one person, but I can speak for at least 1/2 dozen old school 19 friends on this matter.

I will start off with me personally. When I first rolled a couple 24s it was to be a dick. I had been this guy that played WSG one way, to win honorably, for so many years. I was planning on leaving the game, so I said to myself, "let's see what the fascination with GY camping is all about." This was shortly after the 20-24 bracket took off with the F2Ps. Myself and 3 other old school 19s rolled a couple 24s and went in to the WSG and slaughtered noobs like you mentioned. It got boring FAST... after 2 nights and some actual GY camping, we left it behind.

The second time I played the 24 bracket, which was right before MOP and lasted about 3 weeks, I had a great time. The games were much more balanced. There weren't too many games where there was an imbalance of 24s on each team. I played my lock mainly, so I was at a disadvantage to 5+ CATA hunters per game. Anyway, the games were much more fun than my 1st try in the bracket.

Now, to my friends that currently play the bracket. There are several reasons why they play the bracket and I will tell you that you and your guildies are one of the reasons. I will simply leave it at that. Other reasons include instant pops, games 24/7 365, and I've been told that the balance between 20s and 24s has narrowed significantly with this most recent patch.

Now... please don't speak for everyone. Everyone plays the game for different reasons. Some reasons more common than others, but not everyone plays to rack up HKs in the other team's graveyard. I will admit, there are many that do play 24s for the reason you specified, but don't broad brush us all.

Back on the topic of the thread, I can't wait to get on the PTR and check some things out for myself. Gonna install tonight!!!!

I am more excited for the changes on low pop realms. I see some seriously cool ways to make gold on the AH and even move gold/items from server to server now.
