20 Monk F2P Restrictions

Axe of the enforcer is BiS, i gain 0.3dps and 2agi vs mcgowens.

Axe / Axe or
Axe / McGowans or
Axe / Dal'Rends?

Edit: Could someone explain to me why staff hasn't even been discussed?

I find as WW you can usually make it to 4 stacks solo. After that you are doomed. Opposition depending of course.

As for BM versus WW, it's a preference but I adore WW. I find FoF is unmatched, the mobility is excellent and they've fixed combo-breaker. I've been told by many FCs that they couldn't fathom how a Monk could stay on their tail for so long. Clash is phenomenal don't get me wrong and the beer is excellent. But FoF/FSK are so clutch and useful that every time I go BM I lament my choice and switch back. I like to superman EFCs and WW seems to bring more utlity to the table for that.

But like I said, preference.

And duuuude I know what you mean, fsk/fof are absurdly fun! I think they're both super cool — I probably just need to keep learning WW so I survive a bit longer when on offense — it's just a lot squishier gameplay than I'm used to. Probably a skillcap thing as BM was relatively easy to learn.

Go mistweaver, Rhaellia on hers seems almost invincible.

I will definitely have to try it out!

i only happen to know axe is better than mcgowens cause i picked up the axe from AH and i use mc gowens x2 (see hunoo in sig) on my monk.

i dont own the boa dps sword sadly.. 2x 1h is better for wep enchants i.e sador main hand 15agi off hand, seeing as your f2p restricted this wont concern you, id stay try both out and see which you prefer.

Axe x2 is best for agility stack. The extra weapon dps alone is about the same as 5 AP in MH, 2.5 AP in OH. I'd probably take the secondary stats from a BoA in the OH, they're pretty close though.

Haste is actually pretty nice for monks. I wouldn't take it 1 to 1 over crit (or over the survivability from AGM/Mark of Tyranny), but 2 to 1 for using McGowan's over Dalrend's is worth it IMO.

Staves are definitely viable. You probably won't see a huge change using one instead of BoA 1Hers. It's pretty hard to really test the difference between them at low levels (especially without access to target dummies, etc.) so I just base my thoughts at 20 on how they compare at 90 for Windwalker. Dual Wield works out to slightly higher white damage and better scaling with Tiger Strikes - Spell - World of Warcraft. I think Riot Stick would be BiS for Ally, but around the same item level you'll get slightly more out of dual wielding. If you prefer the looks of using a staff, I'd say it's close enough to use it without a noticeable drop in effectiveness.

I also totally fell in love with Brewmaster when I first rolled my 20 monk. WW took a lot of getting used to (and can still be painful at times :p), but I eventually found myself playing it more and more. All 3 specs are definitely fun and viable.
