Priest | Warlock | Mage < Decisions, decisions for 20-24

  • Alright, I don't want to focus this discussion on what is OP and what is not.
The reason I am turning to TwinkInfo is to gain insight into what would be most valuable on the battlefield.

If there's not enough healers then Priest should be your answer. If the twinking community lacks crowd control, warlock may be your answer. You get the point.

I want to roll a level 20 twink (P2P), but only if it's going to play a role in the twinking community. No reason in rolling a mage if 25% of the community is a mage.

I have some of the BoAs..
    Head
    Back
    Main hand weapon

I'll be getting the Chest BoA this week, exchanging main hand weapon (1H mace) for the 2H staff, and getting the legs / shoulders within the month.
Disregarding trinkets, etc that's close to full BoA and can be used with Lock, Mage or Priest.

    ---
    TL;DR format:
Will be making a twink, level 20
Desired: Priest, Lock or Mage (due to BoAs I already have)
Asking: What will be the most valuable to the twinking community
Do NOT say what is 'OP' and what's not. That crap changes all the time.

    They are all valuable.

You need to consider what you like playing. The bracket is large. Play what you like. You'll definitely have more fun that way.

There are enough games going at all times of the day and night that your picking a certain class will have absolutely no effect on the bracket.

    With that said,

You need to consider what you like playing

I had a priest in the bracket but leveled it to 29 with no plans to twink again on it.
I like shadow and disc, and Mage is fun too.

My only worry is that I'll get bored because casting the same spells and doing the same BGs can get boring and repetitive. In a way I think I'd be more dedicated to 70 or 80 twinking but I worry that there wouldn't be enough activity to keep me even if I played my favorite class.

Everything is OP it seems in it's own way as if everything has hard counter. No matter how good or bad you are is gonna be determined on how good or bad your team is. The days of me carrying a team on 24 hunter like in cata are long gone. This bracket is very competitive now if you are f2p or P2p. Welcome to the bracket and roll whatever you want.. even spriest..

    Really?

Well, you don't have to play your twink exclusively. There is no harm in trying and seeing if it's your thing. Or not.

Compared to how it was in Cata yes. Compared to 19s with 600 moon fire dots on you yes

I agree with person above that even in non-twink BGs, the way it is played has changed. While I could survive on certain classes (indefinitely), I am finding it harder to PvP if my team sucks. If one team is better than the other, it doesn't really matter how OP one player may seem - They'll get the gank; maybe not 24/7 but a lot more than before.

I wouldn't say it is balanced (lowbies), but you can't run around and rollface as a onemanteam anymore.
So that brings me to my next point.

What realm is the best for twinking? I know about CRZ - But I am not down with only knowing 2-3 twinks. I want to find a realm that has a solid guild that's been around for a while, that'll be around for a lot mroe, and is active. Basically, I don't want to screw around too much. I want to find a guild that pvps frequently, as a guild, and does dungeon runs for new twinks (note: This is a requirement whether or not I'm fully geared or not).

BTW, once I ding 90 and am fully/adequately geared (DK) I'll have enough JP / HP to have full boas. I'll most likely be going with Lock for the crowd control.

There are far less mages and even fewer locks in the bracket, so if your looking for a class not played as often I would suggest one of those two. Mages still have frost nova, sheep, counterspell, minor slows and water elemental if frost, so not lacking in CC.

Play what you are comfortable on, then make the other 2 classes later... why choose 1 if you can have all 3? ;)

Im sorry to say it but good luck finding a guild that will run you through dungeons. Most guilds prefer it if you show the initiative and put effort to gear yourself.

I run people through dungeons and have done 100000000000000 runs of gnomer.. all i ask if they return favor.

There are only a few of us who just pvp on 24 and i just started back. Even in 24 guilds people will spend most of their time on 90s or twinks in other brackets but most large guilds should have 3-5 24s on at any time to run bgs with. Most 24 guilds will boot you if you troll on here.. just a fyi..

I am not asking anyone to 'run me through dungeons'. I am looking for a guild that runs dungeons naturally. I'm not saying they get their 90 alts to do it. I'm saying we all collectively run dungeons on twinks that still need certain gear.

A guild is a community. Personally, I'll run anyone through a dungeon even if I don't know them just because I know that gearing can be annoying and leveling is equal to pounding your fist into the wall until you have hard callus knuckles.

    This.

I ran SFK back in BC for god knows how long, just to get Shadowfang and Assassins Blade for a rogue that wasn't mine. And BRD runs for the arena spider boss, just to get a plate chest piece for my mate's 49 warrior.

May have got mindthrust and some other useful BoE's while in there, so not all bad. But yes, there are very few people out there now who do this.

Priest is the best of these 3 without a doubt, if you want to be a god in the battleground then go priest.

    Mage is pretty fun.

Don't bother with warlocks, you hurt your team by bringing a warlock to the BG, they bring nothing to the table.

Fear , slow, and decent burst is nothing

Why not have both? *Mexican Music*
    Holy for CC
    Disc for Heals
Preferably Panda for the extra CC

Locks are amazing, what are you on?

    Locks are Super viable.

    1.Great Bursts(If coordinated correctly)

2.Great survivability(Health cds and demo leap) Shadowplagues Fcing skills are awesome

    3.Fear
