5.3 Arms Warrior Guide

• Welcome,
I noticed the Warrior Guides were out of date so I thought I would post my own. Arms warriors are the glass cannons of melee DPS. We have no defensive cool-downs (Other than defensive stance, which except in rare cases you will never be in), and a self heal that gives us less than rogues get. What we lack in defense however, we make up in power. We have perhaps the largest burst of any class. So if you believe the best defense is a strong offense this just may be the spec for you.

Race

Panda:
Quaking Palm: incapacitating for 4 seconds. Damage cancels effect.
Bouncy: 50% reduce from falling damage. Great in AB if you’re at the LM.
Gourmand: Allows buying of Skewered Peanut Chicken
Epicurean: Doubles well fed buffs!

Alliance:
With the exception of Gnomes and Dwarfs, which racials are of no use to us or other racials are better, all others make good warriors. If you are an offensive player I would pick Worgan. For survivability pick Human or Draenei. The free trinket is great, and the self-heal Draenei’s have is highly under rated.

Human-
Every Man for Himself: Trinket on 2 min CD. Frees up a second trinket slot.
Diplomacy: A 10% rep gain increase to obtain titles faster.

Night Elf-
Shadowmeld: A vanish that does not allow movement, good for dropping combat as well as hiding.
Quickness: Reduces the chance that melee and ranged attackers will hit you by 2%.
Wisp Spirit: Transform into a wisp upon death, increasing speed by 75% compared to the 50% boost from other classes.
Nature Resistance: 1% reduce on nature damage taken.

Worgen-
Darkflight: A 'sprint' that is all around useful. Can be use to escape, FC, catch up to an EFC, and keep up with those pesky Druids.
Viciousness: +1% crit.
Aberration: 1% reduce on shadow and nature damage taken.
Flayer: Skinning skill increased by 15 and allows 0.5 seconds faster.
Two Forms: Turn into your currently inactive form.
Running Wild: Drop to all fours to run as fast as a wild animal. Serves as the worgen "mount".

Dwarf-
Stoneform: 10% mitigation cooldown and removes crippling poison.
Crack Shot: +1% expertise with ranged weapons.
Frost Resistance: 1% reduce on frost damage taken.

Draenei-
Gift of the Naaru: Heals 20% over 15 sec and not dispellable. Not to be underestimated, and other than Victory Rush the only self-heal we can have.
Heroic Presence: +1% hit. Not super useful since alliance gear has an overabundance of hit but can be useful against 24s.
Shadow Resistance: 1% reduce on shadow damage taken.
Gemcutting: Allows usage of Heavy Stone Statue

Horde:
All races have their way to benefit an Arms Warrior, although I would strongly suggest Orcs. Both the passive buff to Axe’s and a Blood Fury make our burst even higher. The other notable class here is Goblin. Rocket Jump is a very useful mechanic that can be used to help you escape or chase when Charge is on CD.

Blood Elf-
Arcane Torrent: Silences all enemies within 8 yards for 2 seconds. (This is based on spell hit so do not expect to see it land until they fix the spell hit bug.)
Arcane Affinity: Allows faster leveling of Enchanting.
Arcane Resistance: 1% reduce on arcane damage taken.

Goblin-
Rocket Jump: Jumps forwards 25 yards.
Rocket Barrage: Small fire damage attack.
Time is Money: 1% attack and cast speed.
Best Deals Anywhere: Receives exalted discounts regardless of reputation.
Pack Hobgoblin: Mobile bank usage for 1 minute.
Better Living Through Chemistry: Allows making of BiS potion.

Orc-
Blood Fury: 42 attack power cooldown.
Hardiness: 15% reduced stun duration. Helpful against pally HoJ
Command: 2% pet damage increase.

Tauren-
War Stomp: Stuns up to 5 enemies within 8 yds for 2 sec.
Endurance: 5% added to base hp.
Cultivation: Slightly faster herbing and allows gathering of Wild Steelbloom
Nature Resistance: 1% reduce on nature damage taken.

Troll-
Berserking: 20% haste cooldown.
Regeneration: 10% faster health regen.
Beast Slaying: 5% damage against beasts. This includes shape-shifted druids and shammys.
Dead Eye: +1% expertise with ranged weapons.
Da Voodoo Shuffle: 15% reduction on movement impairing effects.

Undead-
Will of the Forsaken: Removes Charm, Fear and Sleep. Adds a 30 sec cd on PvP trinket.
Cannibalize: Small HoT.Breaks with damage or moving.
Touch of the Grave: 20% chance of dealing small shadow damage and healing yourself for a small amount.
Shadow Resistance: 1% reduce on shadow damage taken.

Gear
The gear is listed from BiS to alternatives. Our current hit cap is 15, (13 for Orcs and Draenei using an Axe) which you should obtain before anything else. There is nothing worse than bursting down a healer or EFC only to have that KB miss right before they get healed.

Abilities
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=78”]Heroic Strike – This is our basic filler attack. Use when the others are on CD.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=100”] -Charge - Our gap closer, and opener. This can also counter Blink and Disengage while granting you Rage. It also interrupts.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=34428”]Victory Rush - The only heal we have. Use it when you can. You must get the KB in order for this to be usable.
Execute - This skill will usually out power a heal, and normally secures the kill. Use it as soon as it procs, and spam if it needed.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=12294”]Mortal Strike- Our main attacking skill that generates rage. Use after Charge in order to apply http://www.wowhead.com/spell=115804]Mortal Wounds.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=7386”]Sunder Armor – Good skill to use against plate wearers, or anyone your having an issue bursting down.
Slam – This is our main attacking skill. Does the most damage, so use it often.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=6343”]Thunder Clap – This skill will knock rogues out of Stealth, but best used against burst classes for http://www.wowhead.com/spell=115798/weakened-blows]Weakened Blows Effect.
Enrage - A nice passive for an additional damage buff and more rage.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=12712]Seasoned Soldier - A flat 25% Damage boost.

]Talents
Charge is a key skill for Warriors. All our talents effect this skill. Learn the timing between casting this and you hitting your target will make the difference between interrupting, and getting yourself ganked.
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=103827”]Double Time – This is in my opinion the best talent choice overall. It is how we can counter a blink or disengage.
Juggernaut – While the reduction of charge is nice, you will usually have more uptime with Double Time than with this.
Warbringer - Situational at best, but good for the Arena’s or if you can orchestrate a stun lock on an enemy healer.

U got many stuff not right.
U forgot gnomes got epich escape artist, wich helps much vs hunt or mages.
U are missing much on ur Gearlist. Mostly BoA´s and missed compleatly the Hands section, while a Hand is under Bracer.
I wouldnt put WSG neck over Brilliance since Agi dosnt give crit for Warrs.
idd suggest to add other items too liek the agi crit Gloves or the Crit ring. for different gearsets (like full crit, stamina, balanced etc.)

All in All a good guide to beginners. To help ppl already plaing warr id suggest u calculate the value of strength vs crit or some.

just my 2 cents =)
