RSI from World of Warcraft - Help please

lolipopF2P

Legend
So recently I have been getting shooting pains up my wrists.

I have been playing a lot recently to Gear my new Undead Frost Mage and have come across this problem.

I know the obvious solution is to not play as much. However I don't really want to do that.

Does anyone have a working knowledge of RSI problems and ways in which it can be prevented?

I had this years ago (something similar) and it can be something what we in Denmark call mouse-arm (mussearm).
I don't really know how to cure etc. Mine just went away.

Oh and by the way, stuff like this should not be in a bracket but general/tavern.

Play left handed.

Seriously? Just take a break - are you simple man!

I can't do anything in the F2P bracket :)
I am up for some games but I can't talk much. My throat hurts like hell. But yeah, get Nida online and I may have one of our tryouts joining.

Wear a brace, or move your computer to a more comfortable position. Another option that I've done in the past is buy a gel wrist rest for your mouse hand. It creates better posture for your wrist and in general feels better then resting on a desk.

Go out and have a drink, volunteer at a soup kitchen, improve your resume, or start looking into financial aid for college or something if you haven't already gone.

People actually play this that much? I thought the perks of F2P was removing the inflated content ceiling that the Dev's built, allowing you the freedom to not play enough to get a debilitating wrist injury. Get your priorities in order, it's the best way to keep this from happening in the future.

The perks of F2P is not about the inflated content ceiling, rather play the same shitty PvP for free rather then pay out the ass for it.

My point was that there's no expiration date and we can be casual. This is gamer masochism. If that's how he gets his jollies off I'm not here to judge, I just don't see why someone would post it, it's pathetic. I'm embarrassed for OP.

Wow, you're rude. :< Of course more breaks and less playing could be the easiest solution, but be polite about it, please.

Could be that he's not playing too much but with wrong posture. Kahr's advice is sound. Look into desk height and a gel pad. :)

Also moving this to the Tavern.

...but you're not here to judge or anything. *thumbsup*

Double post, first time trying to post from my phone :)

Tough love. I gave sound advice,

I was just elaborating to Kahr to get my point across.

You don't see me posting topics going "My self esteem isn't sufficient enough to deal with the things I do to myself without also wanting attention for it.".

He was seeking help over a self inflicted medical issue due to his video game addiction and abuse of his free time. He doesn't need to be enabled by a community of people he interacts with, he needs rehabilitation treatment. I just don't see how it's judging if you can see past the bullshit where all the facts are. But if that's "judging", fine, I'm a hypocrite.

To be very clear, everything you just said is in fact completely judging. I'm actually glad you posted in another thread how old you are, because it makes it a lot easier for me to forgive your attitude. You'll learn in time.

Velius, you seem a bit annoyed, upset almost. Cool down, take a cookie, sip some tea, relax. If you need someone to scream at, why not Zoidberg?. He has a thick shell, he can take it.

You should read more.

You should read more.

I read your whole post, Velius. You seemed, in the very line you quoted, to be unsure as to whether that was judging. So I wanted to let you know in absolute terms that it is absolutely 100% judgmental. How another person chooses to spend their time is not for you to judge, nor is it yours to presume to know their intentions for posting here. Rather than continuing to be belligerent about it, it would be fantastic if you used it as an opportunity to learn something about the world and your attitude towards it.

Can I get your phone number or personal e-mail so you can school me on all my life decisions? Not just ones concerning trivial things like responding to idiots seeking attention on world of warcraft fan sites?

I said you should read because I stated that if I came off as judgmental in your opinion, then you're right, and I'm a hypocrite.

You see, I'm saying YOU'RE RIGHT because that's the only reason you're posting now, you're waiting for affirmation. I'm giving it to you in hopes that you will either resort to on-topic discussion or leave me alone. Say what you want about what I said, but I was on topic.

This topic isn't about the morality of what I say and how it should be viewed (I really. REALLY don't care how you feel about what I say). It's about some dumb prick who injured his wrists because of video game addiction and how he wants attention for it. If you really want help with you're wrist, use Google/Web MD. Don't display it like a trophy.
