  • Unsanity's Rogue Guide

    INTRODUCTION:

Rogues at level 10 have a very high burst, and their large dodge gives them good survivability in combat. However, on the downside, while they do tons of damage, they lack key elements such as crowd control and mobility. Learning to use your cooldowns at the right time can greatly increase your odds in winning a fight.

    CONTENTS:

    I Races
    II Professions
    III Gear
    IV Enchants
    V Gear Sets

    RACES:

    ALLY:

Human: Every man for himself is a great cooldown that substitutes for your insignia.

Gnome: Only viable as an engineer due to their instant-bombs.

Worgen: The Worgen's sprint racial makes them a more mobile race, they also have extra crit.

Night Elf: Nelfs are always nice for the bonus base agility, not to mention their neat racial Shadowmeld.

    HORDE:

Troll: The berserker buff usually is great in combination with Lifeblood, boosting your attack speed by 20%. Trolls also get some extra agility.

Orc: Orcs have their attack power racial which is pretty decent in combination with Lifeblood. They also have some more stamina than other races.

Blood Elf: Because of the blood elf's AoE silence, it is one of the most viable level 10 twink rogue races.

Goblin: Goblins have their great racial, Rocket Jump, which gives them awesome mobility. They also have their +3 agility almost-bis-bracers from their ending quest.

All in all, you're best going with a blood elf, troll, or night elf.

    PROFESSIONS:

Herbalism: 225 herbalism gives a 55 haste Lifeblood at level 10.

Skinning: 225 skinning will give you 9 crit, about 17% crit at level 10 which is amazing.

Mining: 225 mining will give you 70 extra health.

Engineering: 150 engineering will grant you access to some CCs; like bombs.

U forgot belf as a horde race

Belf is without a doubt the best horde race especially since there are very few interupts in that bracket.

And tauren are the one with extra hp ^_^ , forgot worgen on alliance which is very good with the sprint.
You also might want to add bloodelf because of the amazing silence
you oughta add gear like mystics cape or well crafted sword for non boa
    otherwise great guid :D

    Couple wrong things I read.
Worgen has the 1% crit, not night elves. Night elves have the highest base agility though.
Gnomes should also be added if you choose engineering for instant bombs.
    Tauren can't play rogues.
Troll racial boosts attack speed, not haste, so it does not affect your energy regeneration like haste.

Dwarves, undead, and pandaren can also be rogues. Dwarves get the poison/bleed removal+reduce damage taken CD. Undead get a mini-LS racial and a fear/ charm/sleep trinket which shares a 30sec CD with PvP trinket. Pandaren get a 3 sec incapacitation cc, giving Rogues at least 1 for level 10s.
Gnomes have escape artist, removes snares and roots.

I am also assuming you are focusing on subtlety more, so a couple added notes:
Assassination rogues should use a dagger on main hand, too.
Combat rogues should use a slow offhand weapon.

    Additional notes:
16 armor kit can be used on boa pants, and 24 armor kit can be used on UNBOUND embossed leather pants.

On both Alliance and Horde race you should also probably add Pandarian aswell. You can't roll it from the start, but you can become one after you fraction xfer, proof: Guanyin. This one is a monk, but a Pandarian can aslo be a rogue.

Also, Silver Embossed Boots are Alliance only.
