How are 39's atm

I have a warrior and mage that haven't see any action in several years. I understand that games are happening wed and fri, but I'm curious about what classes most people are playing. What are the underplayed and overplayed classes? Is any side considered the underdog atm?

Everything is very balanced in the 39 bracket.

Other than Prot Warriors, everything is pretty balanced right now.

FCs have ton of survivability(IE: My FoL Crits only heal for 1/3 of a BiS FC's Health).
Healers aren't overpowered, but you most likely will struggle to 1v1 them.
DPS, other than prot warriors, are very balanced right now.
There's a large amount of different types of CCs and every class brings their own form of great utilities to this bracket.
I'm sure there are other classes that do more damage than others, but for the most part everything is very balanced.

Other than the Cloak of Coordination enchantments, Grandfathered gear really isn't gamebreaking at this level. But Skill > Gear in this bracket

From what I gathered, Alliance has been on a losing streak lately. But not by any means is this bracket one-sided. Both factions have some amazing players with dedicated FCs.


Rogues used to be a huge issue, but rogues aren't as bad as they used to be since they lost shadowstep and kidney shot.
Shadow Priests used to be a big big issue. But now that across-the-board, all DPS got a buff and shadow priests got a huge healing nerf(and most healers got a healing buff), Their Offhealing isn't as big of an issue anymore. Phantasm got nerfed and Psyfiend doesn't spam fear on the same target anymore(buff and a nerf at the same time).

As soon as Prot Warrior's Shield slam dmg gets nerfed, 39s will easily be the best bracket in the twinking community.

My old mage is horde and has some grandfathered gear, such as tidal charm. Lots of his gear now has level requirements of 40+, so I'll need to update those pieces. Unfortunately I cannot link that account with my f2ps--profile information doesn't match. I may end up just remaking a mage, I'd rather not take old advantages.

Welcome to the bracket! It's very balanced indeed. The issue is Prot Warriors who crit 7K, though we have put up a ban on prot warriors and report them AFK unless they're FCing.

Everything is welcome, excluding prot warriors.

I'm just waiting until they balance DPS prot again so I can respec back to DPS prot, I'm not a huge fan of arms warriors at 39 and fury isn't my cup of tea.

I'll probably just work on putting together horde and alliance mages until prot gets fixed, I recall ulda being the most grueling part of gearing.

Mages arn't thatbad to gear all u really need from uldaman is the gloves everything else is pretty much BoA or scholo gear however the annoying part is scholo has all the 42's and at 39 getting hit capped over the skull is really really hard and i find it very annoying that i miss 1/3 of my spells but i guess that isnt a huge factor. So mages i would consider talking to would be pixxi and judnelson. And warriors arnt that bad just prot arms and fury do the same amount of damage as everyone else if u would reather gear your warrior. If you need gear advice on that talk to Sun, Colmac, Chops, (there are a bunch im sure u can find someone).

Indeed, Ulda is really evil. Either the RNG loves you or hates you. I had my 39 warrior nearly BiS in roughly 3ish hours after reaching 39, except for 1 piece. Then took my roughly two days just to get one piece of armor off of the first boss in Uldaman,

I recommend, that if you can, try to solo Uldaman to the boss you need. Shouldn't be too hard if you're careful (Though I don't know about mages, really). Was running dungeon finder Uldamans until I realized that I could solo it (Due to a group disbanding with me being the only one there), so I just solo'd up to the first boss, left, reset, until I got my gear.

It's a fairly fast gearing process until you get to Uldaman (So fast that as stated earlier, I got nearly BiS in 3 hours on my first 39 twink in 5.1) , then you just have to pray to the RNG Gods for mercy. G'luck.

I recommend, that if you can, try to solo Uldaman to the boss you need. Shouldn't be too hard if you're careful (Though I don't know about mages, really). Was running dungeon finder Uldamans until I realized that I could solo it (Due to a group disbanding with me being the only one there), so I just solo'd up to the first boss, left, reset, until I got my gear.

You can try to solo it or if you have friends who can run you 5 runs take 10 mins max (and I mean Max lol) if your ally I am always up for running people even have a high lvl parked there to run people. I also que on my 39 pally as a tank for people that want to take the route of using lfg tool. The pops tend to be pretty fast for the first couple then you start running into the same groups and you dont want to take the pops.
