Debate #3

I've always wondered what the best gem setup is, you have people, tell you... but ARE THEY ACTUALLY RIGHT?
lets go white and nerdy... and do some statistics here, and calculations

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Currently the Average Joe setup for twinks is.. to stack PvP power (which of course increases player damage)

While some Stack pure (intellect or strength depending on class)

And some stack pure resilence (to mitigate damage)

RIGHT well... as we know, in 5.2 Resilence was nerfed by Linear (if im right) meaning for each point of resil counts as the same for every single piece of gear (i`ll edit if i am incorrect)

I would like to also link this video by a multi rank 1 glad (YES ITS 90 but just watch it to understand the base idea behind the concept: Reckful explains PVP Power vs Resil - YouTube)

Try watch the video to understand where im going with this,

As we know.. in the 85 bracket... People can Give you the "D" so hard, Regardless of you stacking resilence,

But its always nice to know... even though you can still get globalled IS it worth stacking resil? rather then pvp power or the base stat (intellect/strength depending on class)

Last Debate Today from me :p

Windsong V Dancing Steel V jade spirit (or whatever class you may be)

Dancing steel/Jade spirit has no INTERNAL cooldown which means you can POSSIBLY (depending on RNG) have a 100% uptime on 1650 (intellect or strength or agility) now i would like to compare this to windsong

Windsong has a 4 PPM proc, and they are extremely high, meaning 1 single auto attack can proc it, So you won't have to worry about proc rate from it.. Is the 1500 (mastery) or crit/haste a overall better stat then the base 1650?

Example my lock got 2 mastery procs from windsong thats 3000 MASTERY! that increases my BURST SO SO SO much,

which 1 is better?

I thought you could only get 1 of each Windsong buff at a time, not multiple?

Also, saying that "it's possible to have 100% uptime" is nearly as pointless as saying "it's possible I could crit every single attack with 1% crit chance".

I Apologise what i meant to say is ITS UP MOST OF THE TIME, because of no internal cooldown

What did I just read.

think he is trying to get a discussion going on what kind'a stats to stack as any class.. or why you in perticular use the setup you do..
oh and he wanted to show us a movie of a jew doing math........

OT: im stacking resil atm, i dont know if it literally is better stacking something else atm but i dont find that relevant cus i think it suits my playstyle best.

im using neither enchants as i have lost 4 set bonus to BS so im roling with wep chain, i srsly cant live without it.

^ This :D and erm... someone needs to verifiy if you could put the 2200 enchant on a 442 dagger then mail it off (ofc while its BoE)

It's not that simple. Trying to devise a generalized gearset for PvP isn't a great idea. For example, a warrior using a weapon chain against everything, rather than just having the remaining piece of the 4set against disarm comps (or another weapon).

On paper, resilience wins hands down because despite the changes blizzard made, it still gives increasing returns.

Ok, the point with Pvp power is, if you have 30% and you add 1%, you will still only do 1% more dmg than before.
If you have 60% resil, and you add 1%, you effectively reduce your "remaining" damage taken by 1/40th, so 2.5% (you know, since 40% was remaining). If you had 80% resil and added that same 1%, you would reduce your damage taken by 1/20th since you already had 80%. That same 1% extra resil, reduces damage taken by 5%. At extreme resil, going from 98% to 99% would HALF your damage taken.
So resil becomes increasingly more effective, where pvp power does not. If you're going with resil, go with a lot of resil.
