Para cloak on healers

I've never seen any healer wearing a parachute cloak with pvp power on, is it really that unviable? The pvp power gives more healing too right? I don't know how much more but if anyone got any numbers or any reasons not to wear this as a healer I would love to find out. Thx! :)

Parachute cloak with PvP power is a solid throughput boost for healers, but I prefer the extra survivability you get from a BoA cloak.

At 200 spellpower factoring in Battle Fatigue:
16 PvP power would add an average of 20 healing to Flash of Light for a 24 (~26 if 20s keep their scaling).
The 4 sp on a BoA cloak would add a bit over 3 healing on average.

Definitely a big difference, but with heals already huge I don't know if it's enough to make up for the 7 stam/3 crit/3 haste/5 resists/extra damage I get from a BoA cloak. More debatable for regular use if resists finally get broken or you don't have the enchant. Right now I'd say it might be situationally appropriate if you're spam healing someone through heavy damage and a mortal strike debuff - other than that you'll probably be seeing mostly overheals.

Flash of Light at 24 - A quick, expensive heal that heals a friendly target for 621 to 695 (+ 112% of SpellPower).
(((621+695)/2)+1.12*200))*((1.0653-1)/2)(.7) = 20.16
(Average Flash Heal + sp scaling)(50% PvP power on heals)(30% Battle Fatigue)

It's because healers only get half the benefit from pvp power that a DPS does. It's already a hard call to make when you're throwing away one profession to get a parachute cloak and you're not a class that can use the +8 agility. I don't have a single 24 that has engineering just for the cloak, because I don't think it's worth it.

I went engy on disc priest for spellpower goggles extreme and mechbuilders overalls. I know for a fact at end game that spellpower trumps PvP power for healers. But this is not end game. Another thing to consider healers really do need that extra health. Any good team should be targeting healers. That is why I still carry my boa chest and helm on priest, just in case. You can't heal when you are a ghost waiting to be rezzed.

So...what would the verdict be for a caster class that can dps/heal (hybrid). Is the 16 pvp power > Intellect for healing and DPS ...ignoring the other stat gains like stam and crit?

You only get pvp power for your primary role.

And even then, in regards to healing, I'm fairly certain that healers only get half the benefit of dpsers.

Dori is right. So if you have the intell cape with crit and haste you will dps more and heal more. But 16 pvp will only give you more healing.
