i explain you if you stack spirit you got alot of expertise it permit you to use your melee attack that give you 1 Chi so spirit usefull. But yeah you have to have a melee ranged target...

@dory dont think spirit affects chi regen in any way, unless he meant the 50% hit from spirit we get from our stance, but I use just enough spirit for hit cap. And @ lokah, iv done 158k heals in a BG while being with Izbuzz who was FCing on his ele shammy the entire game on my 19 monk
You get expertise from spirit too, so you would want to stack as much spirit as you need to hit that expertise cap.
Also, you don't depend on soothing mists to generate your chi. You need to be in melee combat using Jab to generate it, otherwise you just get focused down all day.
However, Healy monk doesn't get really good until they get Disable and Expel Harm. so the 29 bracket.
