Mistweaver Monks. Viable?

Rayp

Legend
I've decided to level and twink a monk at 19, and I'm thinking about going Mistweaver. I don't really know much about them and I haven't seen a lot in wsg. So I was wondering if they are viable or not and also if someone could give me some gear/tactic tips? Thanks!

From what I know, gear is pretty much same as what a restodruid would use. They blow up pretty quick when being focused by multiple people, but when freecasting the heals are strong. Great movement too, and spamming tigers lust on FC can be viable especially if it's a warrior or something else that can't really kite too well :p

Unfortunately though, I've heard they're the most unviable of the healers at the moment, but if you like some challenge then go for it :) That's all I know about them, glhf!

Mistweaver is like cata resto drood, I really enjoy it. Not very easy to not be seen since you got the soothing mist and people tend to jump right on the source of that. But once you get the chi rolling the heals are amazing. Just play smart and enjoy a underplayed class!

Here is my monk, think haste is the way to go for chi reg:

As long as you have another healer with you that has any bit of awareness, you will be a god. Most people will go "OMG MIST MONK KILL IT NOW!" and tunnel you, leaving whatever competent healers on your team a perfect oppurtunity to free cast on you. I have seen a 5man of DPS tunnel vision me for 5 min during opening mid fight letting living and doc freecast heals on me, and still didnt seem to understand why they werent killing anything.

^pretty much this

The only thing they can do that is a bigger mistake (as it is with most healers) is let you stand there and free cast. Enveloping Mist is crazy strong.

Like I've said before though, as of right now MW is good for pugs but I'm not sure of their viability in a more organized premade setting (haven't gotten around to trying it yet). All in all, grab gear for all three specs. WW can be very deadly and BM gets annoying with all the slows.

Here's my monk, missing dual agm but yeah. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Dont t hey have decent DPS aswell?

It's decent melee damage, but it won't make a difference when those being attacked have healers.

I'd say Mistweaver Monks are viable for the most part in pugs -- they have the best raw healing out of any other healing class and can keep FCs up through a lot of damage until people decide to focus the monk. The only problem is they lack utility (CC, burst, etc.). Tiger's Lust kinda makes up for that a little, though.

Okay here is my point of view :mistweaver is strong cuz it's impossible to kick him or pretty impossible cuz of the GCD ( if you don't have delay ofc.)mistweaver can easily keep heavy stacks FC alive cuz of so much heal.Mistweaver got alot of mobility 2 roll + 70 % sprint seems the best option cuz you can use it to break nova and roots. But 3 rolls permit you to be out of range of CS mage (except if he blink) and like 40 yard to be kicked by a rogue... The other talent give you a sort of perma advantages for WSG like mobility all times...I advice you to stack spirit as much as possible then stam then haste then spell. But don't use cloth... You will be squishy... Spirit permit you to stack 1 chi all times it's really awesome !Don't go to melee you will die fast... mistweaver is all about positioning. I hope i help you cya.

Would you recommend rolling one? I've seen you in wsg a few times and seem to do pretty well

If you gear up and take the time to learn the few spells they have, yes. Otherwise you just get killed a lot and do meaningless damage.

Does spirit give higher chance to generate chi?

on my level 20 Mistweaver I've pulled out 79k healing. All you have to do is keep pressing soothing mist

Yea its great for keeping a FC up untill someone, (9/10 times its sneaky), decides to sit on me till they catch me with a burst or CC with out an enveloping mists on myself (namely Fists of Fury:p) And as far as damage goes my blackout kicks crit about 400? It always makes my day when sneaky chases me around resto hut or something, and I pop him in the face with back to back Blackout Kick crits for half his health :)

@dory dont think spirit affects chi regen in any way, unless he meant the 50% hit from spirit we get from our stance, but I use just enough spirit for hit cap. And @ lokah, iv done 158k heals in a BG while being with Izbuzz who was FCing on his ele shammy the entire game on my 19 monk :)

Hey now that's my Gf, It's funny because Somebody posted that picture on lulztruck because it says public entrance on the bottom lol.
