What to do with my 70s?

  • I haven't played more than a few games on my 70s since MoP dropped.

Naturally, like most others, I'm rather disappointed with the state of the bracket, particularly because last expansion I spent time leveling a 70 of every single class and gearing them up.

Is it worth sticking around? The 80 bracket is looking mighty fun right now, at least from a PvE perspective (Aelobin's raiding is definitely getting me excited). I feel like it's a viable option for some more fun but I recall four of my ten 70s used to be 60s that I leveled out for the same reason that I'm considering leveling my 70s now, and that didn't work out too well with MoP.

I feel like I'm going to end up in another broken/dead bracket and regretfully level up until I hit endgame (which I never intend to play, ever).

    Don't even consider 80's.

The disparity between an 80, even a 409 geared one, and an 84 at the top of the bracket is insurmountable. A geared 84 will have 3.5x your health and twice your attack/spell power. Trust me, I have as geared an 80 as you can get with 409 weapon, trinket, gloves and I still get my butt handed to me in BG's.

Eh, it's not nearly so clear cut. More about class if anything. An 80 balance druid will blow an 84 up faster than 84s will do the same, whilst being easier to heal. Resilience is king.

I would just keep them for now in all honesty - if you want to try a new bracket the chances are that leveling from 1-80 will be less time consuming than leveling 70-80 and re gearing a new character back up to 70 if you ever want to try it again. I regret leveling my 60 mage up, and simply cannot be bothered to put all the time back into gearing another one up.

When it comes to raiding, i bet the 80 bracket still is quite fun to twink in (as long as you stay away from the catac/mop gear).
WoLK PvE compared to TBC PvE is not as nerfed. Also you got heroic mode on two raids plus, if you're facerolling everything, achivement-runs.

So if you're most into PvE'ing, then WotLK > TBC (imo).

But yeah.. PvP.. If you dont got MoP BoE's, then you're pretty much !@#$ed.

Also, as dear Vapriest said, it is faster to level a new character to 80, instead of leveling a 70 to 80 and then make a new character to 70 and get it geared, if you decide to stay in the TBC bracket after all.
