Blizzard has some cool ideas

  • I was reading through the recent blue posts that were recently put on mmo-champion and I stumbled upon a few interesting statements that have a big chance of being implemented later on in the game

    • For Arcane, we are going to try going down to 4 stacks (down from 6) that increase damage by 50% (up from 25%) and mana cost by 150% (up from 75%). (faster, sexier burst)
    • We're not sure 5.2 is the right time to convert any of the active buttons to passive procs. While we would like to slim down the number of buttons hunters need to manage overall, changes like this are controversial and I'm sure it would feel like a nerf (even a nerf to fun) to many hunters.(Perhaps some high level hunter abilities will turn into passives? This relates to the hunters mark change in 5.2.)
    • We are also going to try a slightly cheaper Slam. We agree that will help make it clear whether you should prioritize Slam or Overpower. We further agree that the problem wasn't really Arms having too much rage. The problem was Arms not having an engaging resource model since nearly every attack was free. A 20 Slam and 10 Overpower might work fine. Let us know.(Slam would be 20 rage down from 30)

You should mention this as well:

    • Also for Arcane, Scorch deals 40% less damage for Arcane only, but its damage and mana are now increased by Arcane Charge. We agreed that previous iterations were too punitive for Fire and Frost. For Arcane, using Scorch as part of the base rotation won't be as powerful as it is today on live (which we feel violates the stack management I mentioned above), but it will increase with stacks.

I'm not sure I like phrases like "slim down" "less buttons" "abilities will turn into passives", even if it's only about hunters for now...

Well I do have to say that, as playing a hunter, trying to bind EVERY single macro or skill I have would be too stressful for my hands and counterproductive...

i was expecting to see "make F2P available up to lvl 40"

    I was disappointed.

You would honestly want to fight level 44 P2P's with BC enchants like Mongoose, etc?

Everyone wants F2P limitations increased without considering implications. The level 40-44 bracket would be completely unplayable compared to the 20-24 bracket.

The only viable brackets would be 30-34 and below, after that there's no way Trials could provide any competition against P2P's at all.

I find binding mark to arcane shot to be an incredibly annoying idea.
