This weekend we will have a casual raid on friday and a progression raid on saturday. Whatever a casual raid means, I just saw that on thelse's realid status. I assume that anyone wearing so much as a collared shirt will be kicked. Saturday we're doing Blackwing lair again, so please make plans to attend. I know we've had some new recruits of recent, so I'll go over some procedures. The raids start around 8CST. Please don't purposely be late. Don't troll excessively, but merry-making is permitted, especially things about thelse. We don't care about your gear unless youre a tank, in which case have at the very least 7.5k health so you can offtank something. If you have under that youre welcome to dps. As long as you're level 50 you can roll with us. That's it for the raid stuff, but I have some important info for our leather tank friends.
I have mysteriously(mwahaha) been looking into leather using tanks recently. There are a few things I wanted to discuss. The bis shoulders have changed a bit if you've been following the guide. First it was Failed Flying Experiment, a quest reward with more stamina than the justice point heirloom shoulders. Then it was the honor heirloom shoulders, which have more agility than the quest shoulders but the same stamina, along with some useless pvp resilience. The Stained Shadowcraft Spaulders only lacked a few stamina and had some nice hit, so there was some question about which was best. Well I have found a pair of shoulders that trumps all three: Revelosh's Spaulders of Stamina. These drop from the first boss of Uldaman, Revelosh. They give a base +10 stamina, and the random enchant gives another +17 stamina. That's 27 stamina. They are fairly rare but easy to farm as revelosh has about three packs of trash before him. You can probably solo it.
I've also heard about some gloves that give more stamina than Gloves of the Pathfinder. These would be Arachnid gloves of the Monkey from Razorfen Downs. They give +20 agility and +20 stamina, which is crazy, along with some crit. However, you cannot put the +8 stamina armor kit on them, so they really have less stamina. They still show promise for guardian druids because crit is a nice stat, and you can put the blasting enchant on them, which in bear form means 15 crit, along with the crit from the gloves. Also, if your monk isn't hit capped you can put the hit enchant on without losing as much stamina.
The last thing is there are two pairs of boots better than Ember Worg Boots, a reward from the John J. Keeshan quest chain. From Samuel Hawk in Arathi Highlands(he's the League of Arathor quartermaster) there are two pairs of boots you can buy for honor. They give bonus armor and two more stamina than Ember Worg. However one gives 11 agility and one gives 8 agility and crit. For brewmaster monks I would use the flat agility boots and for bear druids I would use the crit boots because crit mangles means double the rage generated from it, which in turn means more uptime on savage defense.
