Mace of the Order

The Bloodsoaked Skullforge Reaver is +3 Strength +4 Stamina +3 Parry at lvl 20.

intel is useless for prot palas, mana will be 120 with or without +intel (btw do the +mana echant add mana to protpal?), spell changes with force (force also give attack power). spirit is useless (mana regen outside of combat?).

and the damage range of both weapons are similar.

the fact of the weapon stats really doesnt matter. The fact that it has a 3.3 speed means that with AP scaling it will have A LOT more topend.

To put this into an example lets say the 16.0 DPS loom wep with 2.8 speed gets +40 DPS from strength making it a 56.0 DPS weapon. While the 13.5 DPS weapon also gets +40 DPS from strength making it 53.5 DPS.

Sure with only the normal weapon stats its topend damage doesnt even matter (1 extra white damage) but with the AP scaling this becomes a much bigger difference with the loom weapon hitting for about 156.8 damage every 2.8 seconds and the 3.3 speed weapon hitting for 176.55 damage every 3.3 seconds. This really wouldnt matter but since Crusader Strike - Spell - World of Warcraft is based on weapon damage, this would make the 3.3 speed weapon superior.

Of course idk how much DPS attack power will add, but this is why slower weapons are usually better even if their DPS isnt so great. You can see this with Talon of Vultros - Item - World of Warcraft in the 19 bracket, despite it being such low DPS, with AP scaling its white topend beats any other dagger in the 19 bracket.

Also the weapon isnt alliance only as there is Morningstar of the Order - Item - World of Warcraft. and Mace of the Sunwalker - Item - World of Warcraft for horde.

Well if your argument is going to be spellpower, dont forget that the weapon also gives 3 intellect so that arguement is irrelevant.

I just dont understand why people dont use this weapon, unless people are seeking for the extra 3 parry (doubt it) why wouldn't you use it?

Did normalization go away?

Won't both 1-h weapons be treated as 2.4 speed weapons for crusader strike, and therefore the boa is better for that purpose. Also--for the boa--where is the +0.054 dmg increase with +1 dmg enchant or the 0.42 dps increase with strength :p

the only benefit protpals get from int now is a miniscule increase in spell crit percentage

Devout Aurastone Hammer - Item - World of Warcraft

16.0 DPS, 2.70 speed
+4 Int
+3 Stam
+1 Crit
+42 SP

@ lvl 20

any Prot pally who isn't using this is doing it wrong.
Don't know if trolling or just stupid, but if you'd read Guarded by the Light Guarded by the Light - Spell - World of Warcraft you'd realize that the 42 SP granted by the devout aurastone hammer is useless. If you're trying to increase damage, even SPELL damage, you need strength.

That chart is completely flawed, because it has been proven that Vultros is indeed BiS for 19's

My 19 rogue Sapah @ Draenor - Community - World of Warcraft has it and I myself can confirm it has more topend than any other dagger in 19 bracket.

Don't underestimate the power of slow weapons (hence why I opened up this topic)

If you knew anything about playing a prot paladin, you would be using Protectors Sword or BSR. Crusader Strike is a very minimal part of your DPS, so sacrificing Strength for weapon damage is just ridiculous. All of your burst damage comes from AS, HW, and Judgment. There is no validity in using Mace of the Order, even pre-BoA.
