New laptop=keybind problem.

All of my F1, F2 etc are not working, if i press them they turn up the brightness of my computer or open search engine instead of using the ability that it's binded too, any suggestions?



P.s this might not make sense but its a little hard to explain.
 
fn lock, tried pressing the fn key again?
 
I have this too, help question mark is on f1 like there is literally a ? printed on teh key, brightness on f2 and f3. f5 doesn't have anything printed on the key but I still can't keybind it
 
nope, nothing has worked, FN works but it's pretty annoying to keep hold that and then pressing F1 for example.
 
Just go into your settings/options and change the hotkey on those button from its default function. I think what's happening is it's trying to execute the default function even when WoW is opened so WoW isn't detecting it.

P.S I'm 100% sure they can de-level your monk because of the circumstances that you got hacked etc..

P.P.S Also anybody else having problems getting onto the curse website? These last few days i haven't been able to get on.

Your laptop came with software that's specifically designed to make use of those buttons, and it's overriding other software. You would have to disable it or uninstall it. I would just go get a copy of win 7 and do a fresh install (not a factory restore), it removes all the unnecessary crap that usually comes on pre-built machines anyway.

fun fact:
media/function key software is often essential to disabling and enabling wifi, if you uninstall it with wifi toggled off there's a good chance you won't be able to switch it back on
you can finger the comms toggle slider on your laptop as much as you want, it's not going back on without the software and fn keys
