So, as most of you know, my accounts were hacked by Twinkesaurus who used fake ID and called Blizz customer support to get the e-mail/password changed on all of my accounts. Every time I sent in ID to get it recovered, he did the same thing. We were both calling Blizz telling them the account was being hacked and that the info needed to be changed, etc.
So, I got the account locked. And the only way to get it unlocked would be to send in the ToU forms with signature and photo ID, etc. It turns out we were both sending in the forms and ID so Blizzard didn't exactly know who was the scammer and who was the real owner. I had to end up sending in what's called "Dated ID", which involves sending in two pictures. One with the photo ID next to my face, and another with the ID next to a public, dated, published document, such as a newspaper. I'm guessing the hacker didn't have physical ID, only a virtual fake ID (generated by photoshop I'm guessing) so he couldn't do this. I submitted the pictures and within minutes I got my account back.
None of my characters were leveled or deleted. However, only about 10 people are left on my real ID. If you were on my real ID/battletag and wish to add me back, PM me your info and I'll add you.
Moral of the story: take as much security precautions as you can. This guy was able to hack me just from knowing the battle.net name on my account.
Several other people were hacked as well. One of which includes my guildy, and quite a number of other people were close to being hacked.
Info about the hacker/scammer:
Skype: Nekkminnut
Battletag: RustyABO#6175. He is also using Bagel's 2nd account (I think he scammed/hacked it) which would be CameronB.
In-game character (on his actual account): Twinkesaurus @ Barthilas - Community - World of Warcraft
He also has a pally of the similar name.
If he hacks an account, he goes through their real ID for other potential victims. Beware of randoms asking to add you to battletag/real ID, or to log on your account, etc.
Have a good one!
